In 1977 Jose and Myrna Grijalva opened a small Mexican Restaurant,

named after their �rst son Jose, in Burbank, CA. By 1981 they had out-

grown the “hole in the wall” and opened the �agship Montrose restaurant.

Though retired, you can still �nd them, along with their youngest son

Corey, making sure every customer leaves full and happy.

After owning a successful New York style deli for many years as well

as working in the family business, Jose "lito" opened the Tujunga location

in April 2000. Today Jose runs the restaurant with his business partner

Tumara. Many of the original employees are still working here today and

are proud to serve the original recipes from 1977, with the same

commitment to service that has made Joselito's a favorite in Los Angeles.

Jose and Tumara pride themselves in supplementing the original menu

with many modern and original dishes you wont �nd anywhere else.

We use top quality ingredients in all of our menu items. We are

among an elite group of restaurants serving Angus Beef in every-

thing from our steaks to our tacos. Uncompromising standards ensure it’s

a cut above USDA, Prime and Select, making it the best-tasting beef available.

We use Real California Cheese and we never use lard for frying or in our beans.
