Quick reference for the IMCI training player

The training player runs the IMCI training on your computer.

To make sure that you can save your training results, you have to create your student profile on the computer you are working.

Clinical practice

1. Click on Clinical practiceto get a list of clinical cases that should be assessed during the IMCI training.

2. Print the list of casesby using the commonly known print functions. The printout contains an additional column for signatures.

3. Conduct the casesUse the printout as check list during clinical practice. The supervisor signs the list of daily clinical practice.

4. Track your progressCheck the cases you already assessed and confirm the entry with the OK button. In this way you can check your progress more easily (see also next page).

Check progress

1. Click on Progressto get an overview about your progress in clinical practice cases and training units.

The progress bar indicates the state of training units.

Training units progress changes to green if more than 80% of the questions have been answered correctly.

The progress bar indicates the state of clinical practice cases.

A certificate can be printed if:- 80% of the clinical practice cases are checked and- 80% of the training units are passed

A message appears when the certificate is available.

Print training pages

2. Select Print...to send the training page to the printer.

You may need to adjust the Page Setup of your printer for a proper layout. Select the orientation Landscape for best results.

1. Click on Print for a preview of how the training page will be printed.

Print booklet

1. Click on File / Print Booklet...for a preview.

2. Print the booklet by using the commonly known print functions.

Manage student profile (edit, transfer and delete)

1. Select the student profile and click on Student Profile Details

Delete profile...If you do not longer need the profile on the computer, you can delete it.

Transfer profile...You have the possibility of moving a profile between different computers. In this first step the profile is saved (e.g. on a memory stick).

Save profile nowAfter editing the profile you need to save the changes.

Edit profileEnter or update the name.

Transfer profile (part 1)

2. Click on Transfer profile... 3. Select a destination

for saving the profile.This is usually a memory stick or a shared drive.

While transferring a profile, the selected profile is removed from the source computer. This is not the creation of a copy of the profile!

1. Open the Student Profile Detailson the source computer.

4. Open the Training player on the destination computer.

5. Double-click on Load a Student Profile from a file.

6. In the following dialog, select the saved student profile.

7a. Continue working with the loaded profilee.g. start the training.

7b. Transfer the loaded profile to the computer.

8. In the student Profile Details, click on Transfer profile...

9. Select the destination folder for the transferred student profile.

Check results

1. Click on Check Results to see an overview of questions and answers covering all units. This report doesn’t contain pictures or other multimedia parts.
