    Quick reference for the IMCI training player

    The training player runs theIMCI training on your computer.

    To make sure that you can save your training results, you have to create your student

    profile on the computer you are working.You can view and listen to the videos in thetraining course and read the documents provided.Documents and pictures can be printed.

    Clinical practice

    1. Click on Clinical practiceto get a list of clinicalcases that should beassessed during theIMCI training.

    2. Print the list of casesby using the commonly knownprint functions. The printoutcontains an additional columnfor signatures.

    3. Conduct the casesUse the printout as check list duringclinical practice. The supervisor signsthe list of daily clinical practice.

    4. Track your progressCheck the cases you already assessed andconfirm the entry with the OK button. In thisway you can check your progress moreeasily (see also next page).

    Check progress

    1. Click on Progressto get an overview about your progressin clinical practice cases and training units.

    The progress bar indicates thestate of training units .

    Training units progress changes to green if more than80% of the questions have been answered correctly.

    The progress bar indicates thestate of clinical practice cases .

    A certificate can be printed if:- 80% of the clinical practice cases are checked and- 80% of the training units are passed

    A message appears when the certificate is available.

    Print training pages

    2. Select Print...to send thetraining pageto the printer.

    You may need to adjust thePage Setup of your printer for a proper layout. Select the orientation

    Landscape for best results.

    1. Click on File / Print Booklet...

    for a preview.

    2. Print the booklet by usingthe commonly known printfunctions.

    Manage student profile (edit, transfer and delete)

    1. Select the studentprofile and click onStudent Profile Details

    Delete profile...If you do not longer need the profile on

    the computer, youcan delete it.

    Transfer profile...You have the possibility of moving aprofile between different computers.

    In this first step the profile is saved(e.g. on a memory stick).

    Save profile now After editing theprofile you need to

    save the changes.

    Enter or updatethe name.

    Transfer profile (part 1)

    2. Click onTransfer profile... 3. Select a destination

    for saving the profile.This is usually

    a memory stick or a shared drive.

    While transferring a profile,

    the selected profile isremoved from the sourcecomputer. This is not thecreation of a copy of theprofile!

    4. Open the Training player on the

    destination computer.

    5. Double-click on

    Load a Student Profile from a file .

    6. In the following dialog,select the saved student profile .

    Option 1

    Option 2

    7a. Continue working with the loaded profilee.g. start the training.

    7b. Transfer the loaded profile to the computer.

    8. In the student Profile Details,click on Transfer profile...

    9. Select the destination folder for the transferredstudent profile.

    1. Click on Check Results to seean overview of questions andanswers covering all units. Thisreport doesnt contain pictures or other multimedia parts.
