INTERIOR LIGHT PIPE SYSTEM
The I l lusions family of l inear l ighting products from Insight was original ly cal led l ight pipe . The concept was re lat ively s imple in that you could place a l ight source on one or both ends of a series of hol low tubes , and project l ight into the pipes and create i l lumination. The advantages were obvious : the i l luminator could be maintained at an accessible location and the system could del iver qual i t y l ight at distances of 40 feet . I l lumination could be del ivered to locations where i t was impossible to maintain a lamp.
Today, Insight I l lusions products boast the most e ff ic ient LED l ight sources avai lable , coupled with l ight guides that employ 3M TM OLF technology and creates more i l lumination and better uni formities than ever before. Insight I l lusions IL10LED products are available in diameters of 10" white l ight LED, CCTs of 3000, 3500 and 4000 Kelv in at 500 watts . The 6" IL6LED systems are avai lable in CCT ’s of 3000, 3500 and 4000 Kelv in in 300 watts . Addit ional ly, I l lusions products are avai lable in RGB and RGBW, which al lows for str ik ing color changing e ffects in luminous accent appl icat ions .

PHYSICAL Illuminator: The illuminator is constructed of aluminum with single piece aluminum end plates and stainless steel hardware.
Standard painted finish is corrosion resistant. The painted finish is designed to withstand pool and natatorium environments. All painted surfaces are prepared with a multi-stage phosphate wash/prime and coated with a textured dry powder polyester finish to a 3 mil thickness. Standard finishes are textured.
Light Pipe: The translucent liteguide modules are constructed of a durable polycarbonate and are lined with 3MTM Optical Lighting Film (OLF). Each liteguide module is available in 8’ sections.
3MTM Optical Lighting Film (OLF) film is a patented film technology composed of microprisms designed to extract and propagate light, providing uniform illuminance along the entire length of the liteguide. Available in 90° and 180° Performance Film

The advantages of the Illusions light pipe systems in natatorium applications is even more dramatic as you look at the 500W LED versus the 1000W Metal Halide comparisons below.
The 500W version not only reduces the connected load by over 60%, but we can also improve the performance of the 1000W f.c. levels using 8 runs of light pipe instead of 10. This allows the installed cost of a new system to be 20% less expensive than the previous 1000MH approach.
In retrofit applications, when you consider the reduced loads plus the maintenance savings, the return on your investment can be less than 3 years.
