Finance: Recommendations

The analysis of the last year’s results brings on some considerations and recommendations:

• Events are successful and usually go sold-out much before the date.

• Events are strongly dependent on Sponsors.

• Number of members must be increased.

• Diversify the source of revenues (maybe events too?)

• Widen the number of the Sponsors

Operation goals

Giving the tools, the structure, the

processes, the templates for sustaining the business actions of

the Chapter

Organizing the activities “on the field”

Acting as a metronome for the activities of the

Chapter

2015 Operation Plan

Providing the most effective Tools• The IIBA Italy Chapter has already implemented in its processes several

tools: from Mailchimp to Eventbrite, from Dropbox to Wordpress.• What is currently missing is a collaboration tool able to effectively reduce

the “mail flood” and Improve performances.

Enabling simple processes• Simple processes means processes that are: easy to follow, fault tolerant,

easily sharable, with clear milestones and shared deliverables• Each process will have clear stakeholders• BABOK principles will help in defining KPIs and measuring them.

Being «Agile»• Processes and tools are not enough. The experience of recent years

leads to say that the working method is equally important. Kanban is a good way to organize the operative activities, making the process explicit and visible to all of the Directors.

Page 19: IIBA Italy Chapter AGM 10 feb2015

19

2015 Operation Plan

Onboarding the Volunteers• Operation must provide the resources both software (repository space,

accounts, ...) and organizational (processes, contacts, procedures, …) to the volunteers joining the Chapter

• Volunteers must be coordinated during “on field” operations.

Acting as a Project Manager – PMO – Scrum Master• Project Manager: create a Master Plan visible to all of the Directors / VP• PMO: providing resources and support to all of the Directors / VP• Scrum Master: as in Scrum (an Agile methodology), defending the team

against the impediments, but checking also the progresses and the velocity.

Acting also as a Business Analyst for the Chapter• Improve the performance of the internal processes of IIBA Italy (Operation

area) through the techniques provided by the standard of IIBA BABOK.
