Citi is one of the largest processors of cash flows globally, with payments going to and from over 190 countries in more than 135 currencies – The value of payments processed daily is more than US$3 trillion on an average day, with peaks in excess of US$9 trillion – As a custodian, Citi holds in excess of US$13 trillion worth of assets
We serve many government and public sector entities in major infrastructural flows, such as pension and social security payments, and provide custody and liquidity services to a multitude of central banks and government agencies
Citi acts as issuing and paying agent for the debt programmes of a number of sovereigns and agencies

What is Sales & Trading?
The Sales &Trading division of Citi focuses on advising investors about investment opportunities in the equity, fixed income, currency and commodity markets and on transacting business on behalf of our clients. Our professionals buy, sell, structure and research. Our clients include the largest institutional investment managers, mutual funds, pension funds, hedge funds, risk arbitrage funds, sector-specific funds, retail intermediaries, corporates, public sector and sovereigns.
Typical roles in Sales & Trading include:
Sales - The Sales team is responsible for building and managing client relationships. They understand clients’ needs through clear and frequent communication, and help to action clients’ needs through problem-solving.
Trading – Traders manage customer-driven business and generate profits through market making, and by taking positions. Astute risk management and a strong quantitative background are required for this role.
Structuring – The Structuring team utilises problem-solving skills and innovation as they construct new products. Communication of ideas and responsiveness to investor appetite is crucial.
Quantitative Analysis – Rigorous financial modelling and analysis to understand and replicate exposures and returns for proprietary and marketable purposes are key to this role.
