John Folks, Jr.Dies at Age 63
T. John Folks, Jr., Board ofChairman of the Nassau - SuffolkLumber & Supply Corporation ,Melville, N.Y., and Chairmanand Chief Executive Officer fothe Lumber Realty Corporation,Melville, N.Y., died suddenly onApril 12, 1971 in Buenaventura ,Colombia , South America . Hewas 63 years old.
Mr. Folks , born in Paterson,New Jersey , resided at PurdyLane, Amityville, N.Y. He hadbeen a resident of Amityville forover 30 years.
He graduated from theUniversity of Notre Dame with aB.A. degree in 1930 and receivedhis M.A. degree from New YorkUniversity in 1935.
Mr. Folks was a director ofSecurity National Bank , Hun-tington , N.Y. and St. CharlesHospital, Port Jefferson , N.Y. Hewas active in many civic andfraternal organizations. He was amember of the Tri-State CitizensAdvisory Group ; ExecutiveCouncil , Long Island University ;Newcomen Society in NorthAmerica ; Metropolitan Club ,University ; of Notre Dame;Knights of Columbus; B.P.O.Elks ; and Southward Ho CountryClub. Mr. Folks was a Fellow andSelector of the Presidents 'Council, American Institute ofManagement, and was listed asMarquis in Who's Who in Com-merce and Industry .
Mass was held at St. Martin ofTours Church following reposalat D'Andrea Brothers FuneralHome, Copiague, last Monday.He was buried at St. CharlesCemetery, Pinelawn.

Annual Luncheon For GOP WomenThe Suffolk County Women's
Republican Club will hold aGarden Party auction at CountyGOP Head quarters , in BluePoint , on Saturday, May 15, inconjunction with theorganization 's annual luncheonand installation of officers, Mrs .Edwin M. Schwenk, chairman forthe event , announced today.
The auctioneer will be formerSuffolk Sheriff Frank Gross whowill be presiding over the sale ofa variety of articles designed foroutdoor living . Contributions ofarticles for the auction may bemade either to CountyHeadquarters or to the varioustown chairmen for the auction ,Mrs. Schwenk said.
"This auction is one of ourclub's major fund-raising ef-forts ," Mrs. Schwenk said, "withthe money raised going towardthe November campaign inbehalf of Republican candidates.
This will be an extremely en-joyable day and I urge allRepublicans to list it on theircalendars. " The installationluncheon will be held starting at12 noon , with the auctionfollowing at 1:30 p.m. Luncheontickets are $4. Admission to theauction is free. The event will beheld rain or shine.
