My aim for this project was to create a cohesion between the DVD digipak, magazine advert and music video, I thought that slight variations in the brand identity would keep it interesting and let me experiment with different colours, for example, I used a beige background on the DVD digipak because I thought it would meld well with the white backdrop photography and the black and white hand drawn flap, whereas for the black backdrop photograph I juxtaposed it with lime green and aquamarine Photoshop brushes. I thought that in order for an effective combination of my music video, DVD digipak and Print advert, there had to be consistencies, these include font, a streamlined, swirling pattern created by Photoshop brushes and for the use of images from the same photoshoot.

When I was creating this DVD digipak, I thought “What would not only entice newcomers to buy it, but also attract the attention of an established fanbase by including something that wouldn’t usually appear in a generic album?” This is when I got the idea to include an insight into the artist by including artwork and prose created by him, it would also make an interesting comparison between the innerflap (which I hand-drew myself and scanned into Photoshop, including several Photoshop brushes for added effect) and the front/back covers, which were created as a combination of studio photography (effects created by experimenting with shutter speed) and Photoshop brushes I then applied this idea to my booklet, all of the song lyrics were extracts from my own writing.

A2 Media Studies as taught me the importance of audience feedback, a two way process in whichmy target audience evaluated my productive coursework, to see if it successfully appealed to them and if the combination of my DVD digipak, magazine advert and music video was effective.I directly reached my target audience and created a survey asking for constructive and indepth feedback. Here are several examples of constructive responses concerning the construction ofmy DVD digipak and magazine advert.
