My magazine’s target audience is people interested in

popular music of today, this can range from Hip-Hop to

Indie-Rock, it’s all about the music, but it has an

alternative theme to it. I think my picture has

represented the target audiences social group

perfectly. Being a magazine for a alternative/indie

audience, it’s about standing out, bright colors and

clothing to suit the indie culture. The model I have here

has bright red hair, and bright red lipstick. I thought this

would be perfect for the magazine as it stands out, and

makes people want to pick it up. I have dressed her in

quite plain clothing but its showing a lot of skin, which

is quite a common fashion statement for this audience.

The model also has her nosed pierced and several

piercings on her ear, which expresses individuality,

which my target will relate too.

HOW MY COVER REPRESENTS MY

TARGET AUDIENCES SOCIAL GROUP

I wanted to relate to my target audience

as much as possible. I wanted the

reader to be drawn to the model

straight away, but I also created quite

an edgy and ruff background, which

suits this indie-rock kind of theme. I

think it is a positive representation of

my target audience, she has similar

clothing, hairstyles and make-up that

women can relate too, and as my

target audience is for both men and

women, the reason she has hardly

any clothes on could attract the male

audience as well.

Here is a print screen of my

questionnaire, I gave these to

my class which were all my

ideal target audience, who

were mixed-gender and aged

16-18. The results of my

questionnaire helped me

produce and decide things to

add and develop in my

magazine such as the price,

and how weekly I should

publish the magazine. So by

handing out these

questionnaire it helped give me

an accurate approach of what

magazine type would be most

popular and successful for

target audience and gives a

good representation of them

too.
