STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT
The stewardship message in the parable of the prodigal son is that it is never too late to become a good steward. Blessed is the elder brother who had been a good steward all along, but blessed, too, is the prodigal, who had to lose all he had in order to understand the value of what he’d been given.
CATHOLIC RELIEF SERVICES
Next week, our parish will take up The Catholic Relief Services Collection. Funds from this collection provide food to the hungry, support displaced refugees and bring Christ’s love and mercy to all people here and abroad. MARCH 24, 2019
From today’s Gospel reading: God instructed Moses, "Strike the rock and the water will flow from it for the people to drink.”
Reflection: In the desert Israel and we, learn to trust God. That’s not something we learn all at once. Instead, as God provides for us each day, we are reminded again and again of our dependence on God and God’s gracious generosity towards us. "Give us this day our daily bread." It’s a prayer often said and learned through experience, one day at a time.
So, we ask ourselves: - For what am I thirsting now? -Where will I find the waters to quench that thirst?
TIME & TALENT
As we continue on our Lenten journey, this is a good time to reflect on the many talents that God has given to each of us and how we might use those talents to serve Him. God may be calling you to use your talents, as well as your time, to serve your fellow parishioners, and our community at large, to build up the body of Christ. We ask each of you to choose at least one ministry to become involved in. A letter, along with a time & talent brochure, has been sent to you this week asking you to prayerfully consider how you can give back to our Parish family. Please return the completed form to Diana in the Parish office as soon as possible. Thank you!
ST ANTHONY’S GIFT SHOP
St. Anthony’s Gift Shop will be having a 40% off clearance sale to make room for a Welcome center during our church renovation! MEETING FOR ALL EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS
A meeting has been scheduled for Saturday, April 13 at 9:30am in the Social Hall. Items to be discussed are as follows: Holy Thursday Social, Holy Week Sign-ups and important updates during the church renovation. You are being asked to make attendance at this meeting a top priority. Questions call George Kevins at 360-479-0548 or email [email protected].
BABY BOTTLE UPDATE
The Social Justice Commission would like to thank everyone who contributed to the Baby Bottle Drive. We collected a little more than $2000. However, we are still missing about a dozen bottles. If you took a bottle home and have not returned it, please do so as soon as possible.
HOPE AND HEALING AFTER ABORTION
"The Lord manifests Himself to those who stop for some time in peace and humility of heart. If you look in murky and turbulent waters, you cannot see the reflection of your face. If you want to see the face of Christ, stop and collect your thoughts in silence, and close the door of your soul to the noise of external things." -St. Anthony of Padua Has your participation in an abortion decision left you in murky water that you have tried to deny and hide for a long time? Come away to a quiet place and allow God to minister to the deep wounds that remain unhealed.

The Tabernacle: Did you know that the most important item in a Catholic Church is the tabernacle? The tabernacle is a noble, beautiful, and secure safe that contains the Holy Eucharist, which is the very Body of Our Lord Jesus Christ. That is why the tabernacle at Holy Trinity is placed at the very center of the altar and also why we genuflect when we enter a church. The presence of the Body of Jesus in the tabernacle is always indicated by the vigil light. You can see the red candle lit above Holy Trinity’s tabernacle in this picture. Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI said, “The Holy Eucharist is the center of absolutely everything.” (Adapted from Fr. Rocky’s 40 Lenten Lessons on the Mass)
All Wednesday Faith Formation Classes scheduled for March 27 have been canceled so that families can attend the final day of the parish mission. Classes will resume after the spring break on April 10.

DO YOU WANT TO FAST THIS LENT? Fast from hurting words and say kind words. Fast from sadness and be filled with
gratitude. Fast from anger and be filled with patience. Fast from pessimism and be filled with hope. Fast from worried and have trust in God. Fast from complaints and contemplate
simplicity. Fast from pressures and be prayerful. Fast from bitterness and fill your heart with
joy. Fast from selfishness and be compassionate to
others. Fast from grudges and be reconciled. Fast from words and be silent so you can
listen.
Merciful Lord, With You all things are made possible. Help us this Lent to be mindful of our actions.
In Jesus’ name we pray!
