My name is PaulaCartwright and I am themother of Taylor Cartwright. Myson Taylor has been employed atInvestment Recovery through AvistaUtilities for the past five years, withoversight and coaching provided byThe Arc of Spokane. From a veryearly age Taylor had a keen interestin doing jobs, many jobs. When
I say “jobs” I don’t mean household chores. Taylor alwayshad his sights set on more interesting work like car detailing, snow removal, or customer service. For those of you whoknow Taylor, you also know that he is “socially gifted.”Because of The Arc / Avista partnership, he has inputinto his own employment goals and skills acquisition. Hiswishes are considered. For the first time, Taylor feels as
if he has EARNED the right to be employed.w
