    The information in this brochure will help you understand what you can expect on race day (30thSeptember 2012) and thereafter, especially withrespect to your certificates and results. Please go through the information thoroughly prior to coming for your race.     NUMBER BIB

    Now that you have collected your running number bib, please ensure you do not misplace it - we

    will not be able to issue you another one. Do not exchange your bib with any other runner.On race day, beforereporting for your race,remember to

    Clearly write in the space provided behindyour bib, your name, and the name andnumber of a person we can contact in caseof an emergency. Such a person must notbe someone who is also participating in theevent.

    Write your medical condition and anymedications you may be allergic to, inthe space specified behind your bib.

    Pin your running number on your chest,secured with pins provided to you in

    each corner.

    Do not cut or alter the bibin any way. The entire bibmust be clearly visible.

    Important: Do not exchange either your bib with any other runner not only will you NOT get your race timings and certificate,your participation in the 2012 edition will stand disqualified. You will also not be allowed to participate in the subsequentedition of the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon.

    Your timing chip has been given to you along with your running number bib. Each chip is digitallyregistered in your name and your running number. We suggest you keep your chip sealed in its envelopeuntil the night before the race and then attach it to your shoe as shown below. Also ensure you do notmisplace your chip we will not issue you another one.

    YOURTIMING

    Close the straptightly, but onlyafter its securelyfastened as you canonly remove thechip now by cuttingthe strap.

    Cut off any excessstrap with a pair ofscissors.

    Thread the plastictie-strap throughone side of the chipand under yourshoelaces, and backup through the otherside of the chip.

    Please note,

    Do not let the chip come in contact with any kind of magnetic field.

    You can keep the timing chip with you post the event as event memorabilia. However, you cannot use this chip for timingyourself at any other distance running event.

    You cannot use your own chip to record your time.

    Please DO NOT exchange your chip with anyone else. Any interchange will amount to disqualification and no timing. You willalso be disqualified from participating in the Event's subsequent edition.

    ARE YOU FITTO RUN THEHALF MARATHON?

    Irrespective of whatever may be your age, we sincerely advise you to obtain a medical

    clearance from a registered medical practitioner/doctor allowing you to run in the event.Please review the following questions before the Race Day:

    Has your doctor ever said that you have a heart condition and that you should onlydo physical activity recommended by a doctor?

    Do you feel pain in your chest when you do physical activity?

    In the past month, have you had chest pain when you were not doing physical activity?

    Do you lose your balance because of dizziness or do you ever lose consciousness?

    Do you have a bone or joint problem that could be made worse by a change in your physical activity?

    Is your doctor currently prescribing drugs for your blood pressure or heart condition?

    Are you pregnant?

    Do you have insulin dependent diabetes?Do you know of any other reason why you should not do physical activity?

    If you have answered YES to any of the above questions, we strongly recommend that you seek advice from your doctorbefore you run the race. Do not run in the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon 2012 if you have been suffering from any sort of virus orfever in the four weeks prior to race day. If you feel feverish, or have been vomiting, have had severe diarrhoea or chestpains or generally are feeling unwell, then it is unfair to you and your family to risk serious illness and become a medicalemergency. Most medical emergencies during the race occur in people who have been unwell but do not want to miss the race.

    The organizers and sponsors/partners of the event will not be responsible for any injury, of whatsoever nature, that may be socaused.

    ON RACE DAY

    On race day, you need to assemble at the Stadium by 6.00 a.m.

    The holding area gate for participants of the Half Marathon will remain open only from6.10 a.m. to 6.45 a.m. Please note that you will be allowed to enter specific areas onlywithin the holding area depending upon the line-up area specified on your bib.

    Half Marathon participants reaching the holding area gate post 6.45 a.m. and notwearing the valid running number bib will not be allowed to participate in the Event.

    THE EVENT VENUE:

    On race day 30th September 2012, you need to assemble at the Jawaharlal NehruStadium. All races start and finish from/at this stadium.

    GETTING TO THE STADIUM

    The easiest mode to reach the stadium is using the Metro. The Metro station closest to the Stadium is the JLNS Metro Station(Violet line).

    FACILITIES AVAILABLE AT THE STADIUM

    Please see the attached Stadium map on page 6 for locations and directions.

    Baggage counters: Half Marathon runners will be entitled to store ONLY ONE BAG at the designated Baggage Countersinside the Stadium. Please note no storage facility will be available once you enter the holding area. You will be given abaggage tag that is to be attached to your bag and the other half has to be retained by you, to be submitted at the time

    of collection of your bag. It is strongly recommended that you do not leave valuables like mobile phone, camera, jewellery,watch, electronic gadgets, etc. in the bag stored. The organizers are not responsible for any loss, theft or misplacement ofyour bag or contents stored therein.

    Baggage counters will be open for baggage retrieval till 11 a.m. on race day. In case you are unable to collect your bagbefore such time, you may contact the event helpline +91 96500 33333 till 3rd October 2012.

    SLOW RUNNERS

    The time limit for completion of Half Marathon is 3 hours from its start time. If you cannot finish the race within this time, andare still determined to reach the Finish, please keep to the footpath and stay off the road as vehicular traffic on certainsections of the course will be released.

    AFTERYOURRACE

    YOUR FINISH

    As you cross the Finish line, do not obscure your running number bib with your arms, the race officials, the television camerasand the photographers will find it difficult to identify you.

    The Finish is a secure area with no public access. You should arrange to meet your supporters near the Entertainment Stage.

    Once you cross the Finish line, please keep moving ahead towards the Medal Counters. Do not wait/stop near the finish areaas you will come in the way of your fellow runners who would be crossing the finish line.

    MEDALS AND REFRESHMENTS

    You will receive your finisher medal and refreshments at the Half MarathonRefreshment Counters post the finish line. You will need to show your running numberbib to our volunteers for them to handover the medal and refreshment packet to you.Please note medals will not be posted to individual runners.

    For the benefit of your fellow runners and general hygiene, we urge you dispose off/throw peels andpackaging in dustbins provided in the stadium premises. Our volunteers will be able to clear the placeeasier and faster.

    VOLUNTARY DEPOSIT OF YOUR TIMING CHIP

    Post your race, you may chose to voluntarily deposit your timing chip in the drums provided near the Refreshment Counters. Our

    volunteers can help you in clipping off your timing chip from your shoe. As part of our Go Green initiative, timing chipsdeposited by you will be re-used at the Event's next edition, thereby negating the need to manufacture more chips.

    RACE RESULTS

    Provisional race results and timing results will be posted on the official event website post the race on30th September 2012.

    TIMING CERTIFICATES

    Timing certificates, recording runner's race timings, will be available for download on the event websitewithin 21 working days after race day.www.procamrunning.in/adhm

    Certificates will be issued to those half marathon runners who cross the finish line by 10.10 a.m. on race day.

    The timing certificates will display gun finish time, net finish time, net split timings and ranking as per net finish time. Rankingswill appear on certificates of only those runners who have crossed the finish line within the period mentioned above and whosechip timings have been reflected across all timing mats on the course, including start and finish mats.

    Please note, physical timing certificates will not be posted to you; these will be available only online for download on the eventwebsite.The timing certificate of the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon 2012 is valid for use as pre-qualification in all AIMS certified distancerunning events across the world.

    RACE DAY PHOTOS

    Marathon-Photos.com is the official photographer of the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon. Your photographs will be capturedat several locations on race route and at the finish. The Title Sponsor, Bharti Airtel, brings an exclusive offer to theparticipants of the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon. You can download all your single photographs free of cost! All you have todo is post 72 hours of the race, log on to www.procamrunning.in/adhm.

    Do read through the event information given here onceagain. Particularly take note of the section on medicalconditions, your running number bib and timing chip.

    Do eat before the race

    Do drink plenty of fluids before the start to the race

    Do warm-up

    Do run in suitable clothing and footwear

    Do plan your race realistically

    Do get to the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium with plenty oftime to spare

    Do be aware of locations of all facilities

    Do dispose off/throw your used water bottles on to theside footpath. Our volunteers will be able to clear offthese bottles easier and faster.

    8. Participants are NOT allowed to run with babies or children who are under-age for the designated race category, and withunregistered runners. Do not carry gas balloons with you as there are choppers flying over covering the event live.

    9. In order to ensure the re-opening of roads to normal traffic by 10.00 a.m., the organizers will designate cut off times atspecified locations. Runners failing to reach these specific locations within times specified must stick to the footpath in order tocomplete your race.

    10. Only those confirmed participants wearing the current 2012 running number bibs will be allowed on the route. Any personfound wearing the incorrect bib or no bib will be disqualified and removed by the course security.

    11. Further, every runner must wear his/her running number bib on the front of the vest worn. Any mutilation, fold, alteration ordamage to the bib will amount to disqualification of the runner from the Event.

    12. Organizers reserve the right to stop any participant from participating who is found medically unfit to continue in theopinion of the Medical Director.

    It is strongly recommended that you do not leave valuables like mobile phone,camera, jewellery, watch, electronic gadgets, etc. in the bag stored. Organizers are not responsible for any loss or baggageand belongings.

    Baggage counters are available only for participants of the Half Marathon. For security reasons, participants arerequested to come without any baggage.

    6. Prize Money is applicable only for the Half Marathon and Inter-College Challenge categories. The Best Costume prizes(Kingfisher Ishtylewale, Kingfisher Sensation Squad and Kingfisher Green Crusader) can be won only by participants of theGreat Delhi Run.7. No wheeled vehicles and pet animals are allowed on the course. Anyone bringing wheeled vehicles & animals will bedisqualified from the race; you will be asked to leave the course. This regulation of no wheeled vehicles does not apply to theWheelchair Event.

    RACEREGULATIONS

    1. You are to participate only in the race category for which you had applied and for which

    your entry has been confirmed. Your entry and running number bib is not transferable to anyother person under any circumstance.

    2. Runners found to have interchanged their running number bib and/or timing chip with anotherindividual, will be disqualified from this edition of the Event and shall not be allowed to apply or

    participate in the subsequent edition of the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon.

    3. The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify or exclude any person from competition who gives incorrect personal data/details on the entry form, who has been banned from competition under IAAF jurisdiction, or who is suspected of having takenbanned substances. No refund of entry fee will be made.

    4. No result or certificate will be given to runners of the Half Marathon, Inter-College Challenge and the CorporateSporting Challenge who do not start their run at the respective start times/locations of the race categories they have beenconfirmed in.

    5. Please note if you don't wear your timing chip as instructed, you won't be able to get an official finish time and thereby the

    official Certificate recording your finish times. No Chip No Timing.

    14. Participants are requested to cooperate with the police and security personnel deputed at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium

    and on route. Participants/supporters are liable to undergo random checking on race day this is for your own security.15. Photographs taken of runners during the Expo and on race day will be used for the purpose of promoting the event.
