Item (s)

How do I move an existing item to a different location?There are two ways to move an item.

1. One, is to simply drag the item from the list of items to a different location.

2. The second way is to click on the item to open the Item Editor (like you were going to change the

items details), then click Edit to enable changes. To the left of the Edit button is the Locations

drop-down menu. Just select the location you wish to move the item to and click Save to save the

changes.

How do I move an existing item to a NEW different location?First, create the new location from the Locations Tree, then go back to the location where the items

needing to be moved are. Grab the item and drag it to the new location, or repeat step 2 of the

previous question.

How do I attach an image/document/video to an existing item?To attach a file whether it s an image, video or document just drag the file to the item. The item can be

opened or closed to attach a file to it.

How do I create a new item from a recently uploaded image?

First click the Create a New Item, then drag the image to that item

How do I create a new item from the Tree/Folder view?First click the Create a New Item, then drag the image to that item.

How do I create a new item from the eProoft application home page?

First click the Create a New Item, then drag the image to that item.

How do I delete an Item altogether?

Click Edit in the item editor and then click the Delete Item button. All of

the files that were attached to that item will be placed in the Uploads

Unattached tabs (image, video and documents).

Image / Video / Documents

How do I remove an image from an existing item?To remove or unattach an image from an item click on the X as you mouse-over the thumbnail of the

image. This moves that images back to the Uploads > Unattached Images tab.

How do I enlarge an unattached image?To enlarge any image in your account click the magnifying glass on the top

right of the images thumbnail.

How do I enlarge an attached image?To enlarge any image in your account click the magnifying glass on the top

right of the images thumbnail.

How do I remove an image from the Unattached Images page?Simply click the X on the image thumbnail. Removing the image from the unattached images deletes

the image out of your account.

How do I remove all my Unattached Images?Currently, we do not have a feature that deletes ALL the image files in your Unattached Images. You

have to delete them one at a time.

How do I change the main image associate with an item?

The first image you drag to the image is the one in the top of the item editor view, but there is not a way

to select just one primary image.

How do I play a video I uploaded?Go to your unattached videos tab then as your cursor moves over the thumbnail of the video there is a

play button on the top right corner of the thumbnail. That will open the video up in a pop-up window

video player.

Location Tree Function

The image above shows how

easy it is to move locations by

dragging one location folder

to another.

The Locations Tree Panel organizes all the areas or rooms in

a home or business. It also controls add and renaming

features of locations. Folders and sub-folders can be

customized and organized with drag and drop functionality.

Maximize / Minimize

Minimizing certain screens will help you with the real estate

of your screen and keep you from having to scroll so much.

Add / Rename

Adding and renaming your folder is much like working on a

desktop computers interface and folder or directory

system.

You must CLICK OK to successfully save the renamed oradded folder. * Hitting enter causes a line break, which

looks like you have several folder names. View the FAQ

section for how to correct it.

Number of Sub-Folders

The number of sub-folders you have under a main location

folder and to view them click the arrow to the left of the

folder.Expand / Collapse Folder

To show /hide the sub-folders under the parent folder.

Categories Tree Function

Categories are similar to tags, which allow you more effect

ways to organize your inventory. An example of categories

that you might want to use are in the image on the left. This

is also where you can add or rename categories. *You can not

drag and drop items, images or locations to the Categories Tree.

Maximize / Minimize

Minimizing certain screens will help you with the

real estate of your screen and keep you from

having to scroll so much.

Add / Rename

Click Add to open a blankfield at the bottom

of the Categories Tree. Then, type the name of

the category you want to add and click Ok to

add that category to you list.Select the

category on the left. Then, click

Rename, this dims everything else

except for that category in the field. Rename the

category then click Ok or X to cancel.

renamed or added category. *Sometimes your Browserrequires a refresh before you can see the changes you just

made.

See More...The See More... button

located in the Item Editor of an item to

open the Categories Pop-Up Menu.

Categories Pop-Up Menu

To the left is the Categories Pop-Up Menu that becomes

visible when you click See More... from within the ItemEditor. This pop-up allows you to associate multiple

categories tags or phrases with a single. For example, if a

bracelet falls under all of these categories: Jewelry,

Heirlooms, Appraised, Silver, and Collectible, just click on or

add the desired categories to be associated with that

bracelet.

Location / Category Tree

How do I create a sub-location (like child's bedroom under bedrooms) from the ItemEditor Form?

You must create a location from the Location Tree on the left or in the

Video Walkthrough System.

How do I create a sub-location (like child's bedroom under bedrooms)from the Locations Tree?

Select a parent location (bedrooms folder) then click the Add button on the

bottom of the Location Tree. This creates a new folder or location that is named bedroomsub. This is

for quick location creation, so to rename the location, select it then click Rename > Ok.

How do I create a new location from the Item Editor Form?You must create a location from the Location Tree on the left or in the Video Walkthrough System.

How do I create a new location from the Locations Tree?Select a parent location (My Inventory is the main folder by default) then click the Add button on the

bottom of the Location Tree to the left of the screen. This creates a new folder or location that is named

parent location name sub. For example, click on Living Room, then click Add, and a location and a

sub-folder to the Living Room will be created and called Living Room sub. This is for quick location

creation, so to rename the location, select it then click Rename.

How do I create a new category from the Category Tree?

Click Add to open a blankfield at the bottom of the Categories Tree. Then, type the name of the

category you want to add and click Ok to add that category to you list.

How do I create a new category from the Item Editor From?

In the Item Editor click the See More... button and that brings up the Categories Pop-Up Menu where

to add new categories you type the category word or phrase and hit Enter on your keyboard. That

adds that category to your list as well as associates it with the image you have selected in your account.

How do I create a sub-category (like Heirlooms under the Jewelry category) from theItem Editor Form?

eProofts categories are similar to tags and the way tagging systems works. There are not sub-

categories, but multiple categories. With eProoft you can have multiple categories for a single item, so in

the questions example, you would have Jewelry and Heirlooms associated with this item.

How do I create a sub-category (like Heirlooms under the Jewelry category) from theCategory Tree?

With eProofts Categories Tree, you have one long list of categories that can be associated with as many

items as you want and multiple categories per item if you want. They do not allow for nesting like the

Locations Tree allows, but we believe this will add more options to creating a multidimensional

inventory.

Public Items

How do I make an item public?Go to the item and open it to the item editor view. From there click the button Make this Item Public.

This opens up a field with a link in it. That link can copy and pasted to be viewed by whoever

you share the link with.How do I make a public item private?

All you have to do to make an item that you are sharing (public item)

private again, go to that item and in the item editor click the button

Make Private. By default, everything in your inventory is private and

only viewable toyou.

How do I change information about a public item?

To change the information of an Public Item, simply go to the item in your account, click Edit, thenmake the changes. When you have made the changes click Save. This information is updated

immediately. *To view the changes refresh the public items link.

Uploading

How do I upload images, videos and documents to my account?

Upload images, videos and documents by selecting the green button at the bottom middle of the page

that is called, Select Files to Upload once in your account. To select multiplefiles hold down the ctrl

key on Windows operating system or the command key on Apple computers. To select all the images in

a folder right click > Select All, ctrl A on Windows or command A on Mac. Then, click the Open

button and the uploading starts immediately. The progress bar will let you know whatfile is being

uploaded and the percentage of the file that has been uploaded (12/24 65%) into your unattached

images, videos or documents depending on the type offile is being uploaded.

Tip:

Click and upload entire directories or folders (*does not include

files that may be in sub-folders) of images, documents and videos.

Your files will appear in the "Uploads" section, which consists of the three tabs as seen in the image

above.

What types offiles can I upload to my eProoft account?

The files listed below are the accepted file types.

Accepted File Types:

Images: JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF

Videos: MOV, AVI, MPG, MPEG, FLV, MKV, OGV, MP4, WMV, ASF, M4V

Documents: DOC, PDF, DOCX, TXT, XLS, ODT

Send an email to [email protected] to request an additional file type.How do I initiate an upload?

Once you click the Select Files to Upload green button, Click the Open button after selecting thefiles

you wish to upload and that init iates the uploading.

How do I cancel an upload?To cancel the upload, simply click the Cancel Upload button to the right of the progress bar.

How do I view my upload statistics?The progress bar shows you the progress

of your current upload, but the overview

screen keeps track how many images,

videos and documents have been

uploaded to your account and the total

size of each.

Categories

How do I add a new category?There are two ways that you can add category tags.

1. From the Categories Tree on the left-hand side of the application

2. From within the Item Editor of an Item entry

On the Categories Tree to the left of the screen simply click the Add

button then type in the category and click Ok. The second method is

from inside the item editor click the See More button to pop-up all

the Category tags that you have entered including the ones that arent associated with this item. Click

on the category you wish to associate with this item and the font turns purple when it is chosen. To

create more from the pop-up menu simply type the word or phrase in thefield at the bottom and hit

enter on your keyboard. That category will then be added to the list (may need to refresh before you

can see it on the Category Tree to the left). To close the pop-up menu click the X in the upper right-

hand corner.

How do I delete a category?To delete a Category, select the category on the left from the Categories Tree. Then, in the middle are of

your screen, click the button Delete Category.

How do I view all of the items from a certain category?Select the category you wish to view on the left in the Categories Tree, and the items that are tagged by

this category will be listed along with the number of items in this category and the total value of the

combined items associated with that category.

How do I edit the name of a category?Select the category on the left. Then, click Rename,this dims everything else except for that category

in the field. Rename the category then click Ok or X to cancel.

LocationsOur software has the ability to have put folders inside folders, and you can

add as many nested sub-nodes as you need to personalize and organize

your locations or rooms in your home or office. Having this flexible

location system makes it easier to accommodate almost any circumstance

that a client would need in order to make their inventory personable the

way they want it. This also makes it easier to drag and drop to this familiar

folder view.

How do I unattach an image from a location?

To unattach or move an image that has been attached to the location you

drag the image to where ever you would like image to be, including attach

it to another location or an item that you have created. If you mouse-over

the thumbnail of the image and choose the X the image will be placed

back in the Unattached Images tab in your Uploads.

How do I attach an image to a location?

Drag the image to the Location Tree on the left or if the

location is selected, drag the image to that locations

container. If no images have been attached to the location

there will be a graphic with an arrow on it that says, Drag

Image Here. The image below is of the locations container

before any location images have been attached.

Tip: To make more room in item detail viewing area close the location container by clicking the

Toggle Location Images button.

How do I delete a location?

To delete a location, select the location that you wish to delete and on the right side of the locations

container (as shown above) click the Delete Location button. You can not delete a location that has

sub-locations. You mustfirst move or delete the other locations.

Video Walkthrough SystemThe Video Walkthrough System (VWS) allows you to create still-frame images from a recorded video of

your property. This drastically reduces the time it takes to document your items. Instead of having to

take hundreds of individual images, you can record one video.

How do I start a walkthrough from a video?

To create an image from the VWS:

1. Log in to in your eProoft account (www.eprooft.com/login), then upload the videofile to your

account.

2. After it's finished, press the 'Walkthrough' icon that appears on the thumbnail & the video

clip will open in the VWS.

3. Click the Get Started button, then the Video Walkthrough System will prompt you to name

the location that you beganfilming in. Select

a location from the drop-down menu of

simply create a new location and click Ok.

4. Click play on the video player (it will start

eventually on its own but it faster to just go

ahead and hit play to start).

5. While the video is being played back, click

Spot an item to create an item out of thecurrent image, or Add this image to add

the image elsewhere.

a. Use the 3 main buttons below the video player during the playback of video to perform the

intended actions.

i. Spot an Item.

ii. Add an Image.

iii. Enter a New Room.

How do I create a new location during awalkthrough?Click Enter a New Room to create a new location in

your account and to let the Video Walkthrough System

know what room (location) your next item entries will

be organized in.

How do I create a new location WHILE creatinga new item during a walkthrough?

The VWS allows you to create new locations on-

the-fl

y, so after you Spot an Item and the itemeditor is open to fill in information about that item, you can either choose from the locations that

you already have created or type in the new location in the blankfield next to location. When you

you click Done that location is also created, but by default unless you Enter a New Room the

VWS will continue creating items in the location you entered at the start of the VWS.

To create a new item in the VWS,

click the Spot an Item button as

the video is on that item during

playback.

How do I add an image to a newlycreated Item?

Add an Image freezes the video and pulls that image

frame out of the video and you are prompted to attach it

to one of the items that you have just created (pull-down

menu) or just put that image in your Unattached Images

tab just like you just uploaded that image.

How do I add an image to my unattached imagesfolder?Add an Image button pulls the image out of the

video and if you do not pick an item for it to be

attached to, you can opt to send that image to your

Unattached Images tab.

How do I exit a walkthrough?When you are finished with the video and have created all the items that

want to create then click Close button on the left of the VWS pop-up.
