I mean sure, we were delayed on both our trip there by a couple hours and our way back by over five hours. We had more than seven minor injuries, and survived a severe thunderstorm on our first night in our tents. But I guess when I make the lesson series themed around the suffering and trials that believers in Jesus face, I am bound to have a few natural teaching opportunities. All kidding aside, I truly am thankful for how much the Lord blessed us. Your students made new friends, had delicious food, and made memories that will last a lifetime. We spent an afternoon canoeing, we climbed up dunes that are taller than 50 feet and then rolled down them. We enjoyed unplugging our lives and “ruffin’ it” without running water, showers, flushing toilets, air conditioning, and electricity. I am confident that this was a growing opportunity for everyone, and I truly had an amazing time with the Jr. Highers.

SLEEPING BEAR DUNES

"I had such a fun time on the trip getting to know the Jr. Highers. The dunes were amazing and it was nice to spend time with everyone."

Natalie MitchellSr. High Helper

“I had a ton of fun getting to know the kids and learning about God's Word together. Jon's teaching on hardships was challenging and we all got an opportunity to put what we learned into practice "ruffin' it" and facing a few unexpected challenges."

Eric PotterJr. High Leader

“I really enjoyed interacting with the middle schoolers on the camping trip. It was fun to experience "ruffin' it" with them—from tent camping to tipping canoes, jumping dunes to plunging into ice-cold Lake Michigan, and ending it all with the surprise finish of a roadside wait for a new bus. What an adventure!”

Email: Ros Miller: [email protected]

Rick and Mary Glover have been serving in Indiana since 1996 as Awana Missionaries. Their ministry began in northern Indiana with about half of the churches in Indiana using Awana coming under their care. In 2012, their ministry grew to cover parts of Southern Indiana as well. Before becoming Missionaries, they served as Awana leaders in the local church for 15 years.

The Glovers have been married since 1982 and have four adult sons, three of whom are married,

and four grandchildren. They have had the privilege of seeing Awana work in children’s lives while being leaders in the local church, then in their own children’s lives as they grew up, and now they are watching God use His Word in the lives of their grandchildren

The Glovers have a strong burden to equip leaders to reach and disciple the children and youth of their churches and around the world. Their main job is to help churches in Indiana with their Awana programs. They are

available to come to churches and do Awana training, visit the clubs and share with the children.

Because they are missionaries, all their support is through churches & individuals. Their prayer is that others will continue to come alongside them and support their ministry. ■
