  • Remember, Restore, Renew Restoration Fund Drive

Our Restoration Fund Drive is off to an excellent start! Thank you to the many families that have pledged to sup-port this effort. If you have not decided on your gift to the drive, we invite you to prayerfully consider making your pledge this week. Please review the suggested gift plans and continue the success of our campaign by mak-ing your gift as soon as possible! You may place your Commitment Envelope in the regular collection at Mass. If you forgot to bring your pledge envelope to Mass this weekend, please mail it to the parish office this week or bring it with you to Mass next weekend. Additional brochures and pledge envelopes are available at the en-trance to the church. Thank you for considering this re-quest and all you do for St. Paul Parish!

Please note that Sunday 9:30 and 11:00am Masses will continue to be celebrated in the church.

AC UNIT IN DIGIOVANNI HALL Shortly after moving into DiGiovanni Hall for the summer, we learned that the AC unit was not functioning. We are in the process of fixing the problem. The new unit has arrived and is the process of being installed.

SUMMER VACATION TIME IS UPON US! All of us at St. Pauls hope that you have a rest-ful and enjoyable summer vacation wherever you may find yourself during the beautiful sum-

mer days in New England. As you head off from Harvard Square, please be sure to remember St. Pauls during the summer months. Although a more relaxed pace takes over, the good work of proclaiming Jesus Christ very much continues here the sacraments are celebrated, the out-reach continues in a variety of forms, visitors are wel-comed and year-round parishioners are in and out, and yes, the regular expenses continue even in the summer. Your weekly offertory contribution is of great help during the summer while you are away you can set a recurring gift through our on-line giving portal on the parish web site or by using the new Giving-Kiosk in the vestibule of the church. Thank you for remembering St. Pauls while you are away!

    EIGHTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

    Dear Friends,

Over the past few weeks, work in the upper church has been progressing nicely on the plaster and arch resto-ration in the sanctuary. Initial reports state that the work continues as anticipated which is always good news when dealing with older structures. David Dankens of our Parish Finance Committee is working closely with the general contractor, engineers and plas-ter restoration specialists and has been keeping me posted on all details regarding the project. I am truly grateful for his leadership and expertise.

As the work progresses, so too does our Restoration Fund Remember, Restore and Renew. I am very pleased to report that nearly $400,000 has been raised toward our goal of $500,000. My sincere thanks is ex-tended to all who have generously made a gift to the Fund thus far.

The final push toward achieving or exceeding our goal is now of great importance. I ask all parishioners and visitors to St. Pauls to please prayerfully consider how you may participate in this parish-wide effort. As you know, a gift of $4,000 over a two year period has been requested. Some may not be in a financial position to consider that amount, while some may be able to offer a gift at a higher amount. Please know that every gift counts; every gift is appreciated, and every gift is greatly needed for this campaign to be successful. At the conclusion of the Restoration Fund campaign, a special plaque listing of all donors will be placed in a prominent location in the parish so as to acknowledge and thank all who participated. As a reminder, gift en-velopes are available in the vestibule of the church or by contacting Nancy at the Parish Office. You may place your gift in the collection basket or mail it to the Parish.

Together, as a community of faith united in our Lord Jesus Christ, we can restore our beautiful House of God so that it can continue to serve the spiritual home to so many in Harvard Square.

Thank you for all that you do for St. Pauls and may God bless you in these summer days.

In Christ, Father Michael E. Drea Pastor and Senior Chaplain
