with a Warm Heart A few years ago I sat down with a group of 10 people. We were all strangers. The oldest was 74 and the I was the youngest . I wondered what I would say to these people. I wondered why God had called me to be with these particular people. We held hands together and I asked them to bow their heads.Lord bless us as we begin this journey through your Holy Word.Through the course of the 8 months; a mother became a grandmother, a late career father was laid off and then found a job; a wife shared that her husband had contracted stage 4 cancer; I became a father; we all walked through the major themes of the Bible each week. We brought our life to the table, and we poured our life into the word of God. We had plenty to talk about, and more importantly, God had plenty to say to us. There is a promise that Jesus makes to us, Remain in me. And I will remain in you. (John 15). None of us know what life will look like eight months from now. We are uncertain if our hearts will be filled with joy, restlessness, or frustration. We can be certain that if we remain in God, God will remain in us. This fall we will begin the same Disciple 1 Bible Study I did years ago. We will sit down with a group through Gods guidance. All of us will have uncertain futures. Yet we can all be certain that by making room for God in the busy lives that we lead, we will not be alone. This will be my fourth time to take this study. Every time I bring a different part of my life before God, and God works in my life with different answers and in different ways. I hope you can join me in this journey and be certain of God working in our uncertain lives. Grace & Peace, Rev. Preston Greenwaldt

We’re the Church with a Warm Heart

August 2014

A few years ago I sat down with a group of 10 people. We were all strangers. The oldest was 74 and the I was the youngest . I wondered what I would say to these people. I wondered why

God had called me to be with these particular people. We held hands together and I asked

them to bow their heads.“Lord bless us as we begin this journey through your Holy Word.”

Through the course of the 8 months; a mother became a grandmother, a late career father was laid off and then found a job; a wife shared that her husband had contracted stage 4 cancer; I

became a father; we all walked through the major themes of the Bible each week. We brought our life to the table, and we poured our life into the word of God. We had plenty to talk about,

and more importantly, God had plenty to say to us.

There is a promise that Jesus makes to us, Remain in me. And I will remain in you. (John 15). None of us know what life will look like eight months from now. We are uncertain if our

hearts will be filled with joy, restlessness, or frustration. We can be certain that if we remain in God, God will remain in us. This fall we will begin the same Disciple 1 Bible Study I did years ago. We will sit down with

a group through Gods guidance. All of us will have uncertain futures. Yet we can all be certain that by making room for God in the busy lives that we lead, we will not be alone.

This will be my fourth time to take this study. Every time I bring a different part of my life

before God, and God works in my life with different answers and in different ways. I hope you can join me in this journey and be certain of God working in our uncertain lives.

Grace & Peace,

Rev. Preston Greenwaldt

Hardy has a place for every child, parent and grandparent. If you have any questions concerning Hardy's children's

ministry or would like to be more involved, please contact me at the church office or through email at

Intro for

“Disciple Bible Study”

August 27th @ 6:00pm

Disciple is a program of disciplined Bible study aimed at developing strong Christian leaders. The study gives the

Old and New Testaments equal time, emphasizing the wholeness of the Bible as a revelation of God. Disciple

draws upon the work of scholars, the personal Bible reading and study of the participant, and dynamic group

discussion to aid understanding the Bible

Hope you will join us as we become better

Disciples through this study.

The Sunday night “Romans” study will continue through the month of August.
