Race 1

#5 Kingly

#1 Gray’s Fable

#7 Malibu Uproar

#4 Wedgewood

#5 KINGLY has been facing the likes of River Boyne and

Got Stormy and not embarrassing himself in the top level

turf races in Southern California. He returns from a six-

month break and should be the clear one to beat. #1

GRAY’S FABLE set a very fast pace and gave way in late

stretch when competing on August 16. He may be at risk

of getting hooked in a duel with Kingly, but if he doesn’t

get run into the ground in the early stages he could be

there for a share. #7 MALIBU UPROAR was a winner

over this course on June 20, then returned on August 2,

failing to threaten with a very wide journey. He prefers turf

and should be able to get a better trip. #4 WEDGEWOOD

rallied into the hot pace to be second on August 16. They

could be going fast early once again; worth a look.

Race 2

#2 Forester’s Turn

#3 Duke of Carthania

#6 Aye Aye Sir

#5 Francatelli

#2 FORESTER’S TURN looked beaten but dug in gamely

to win the Greenwood on August 1. This is a much

tougher race but this gelding hasn’t done anything wrong

this season. #3 DUKE OF CARTHANIA was up late to

win a first level allowance in a seven furlong dash over a

next-out winner on July 26. This is the shortest race he

has contested; with a pace meltdown he could be right

there. #6 AYE AYE SIR was part of a three-horse duel in

the Woodstock on June 13, giving way to be fourth. He

has had turf success south of the border and now returns

as a first time gelding. #5 FRANCATELLI exits a blow-out

win in an off-turf first level allowance at Laurel on August

15. The 94 Beyer and nine and a half length win margin

will catch eyes but this is a much tougher affair.

Race 3

#3 Musical Ride

#10 Admiring

#2 Koto

#1 Carpe Horseshoe

#3 MUSICAL RIDE showed a surprising amount of speed

in her debut on August 8, fading in the stretch but

certainly outrunning her 93-1 odds. The blinkers come off;

she is well bred for a turf route. #10 ADMIRING worked

from the gate on August 30 with Dejas Too, who ran

second on debut with a 67 Beyer. Daughter of War Front

is the first foal to race out of Treasuring, who won the

Star Shoot Stakes. #2 KOTO is by More Than Ready, an

11% two year old debut sire. Birdie Birdie has thrown

multiple Graded Stakes winner Free Rose as well as a

couple of other respectable runners. She worked from the

gate with Ostracize on August 8; that foe also appears

here. #1 CARPE HORSESHOE has had two second

place finishes in as many starts. She gets some more

distance and tries turf for the first time; likely a speed

threat.

Race 4

#1 Lion Kingdom - Best Bet

#9 U S Army Corps

#2 Curlin’s Thrill

#6 Knotty By Design

#1 LION KINGDOM had a wide journey in a solid field

when competing on the main track on August 1. He was

an off-turf scratch in the interim and now shows up for

$25,000; a solid contender. #9 U S ARMY CORPS made

a wide move before evening out in the stretch when

sprinting 13 days ago. He has more talent than he has

shown since arriving at Woodbine but he will need to

work out a trip. #2 CURLIN’S THRILL showed some run

at Tampa this winter but has been a non-threat in two

starts here. He takes the drop from maiden special weight

in for $25,000 and draws well. #6 KNOTTY BY DESIGN

has not threatened but has not been terrible in his three

starts to date. He exits the same sprint race as U S Army

Corps; if you’re interested in that foe as one of the

favourites, this one is worth a look at a huge price.

Race 5

#4 English Classic

#9 Orazio

#6 Green Fleet

#3 Zephan

#4 ENGLISH CLASSIC was hustled into a speed duel

and ran a very game second in a 10 furlong, first level

allowance on August 20. He ran a good midpack effort

with the rail in Lane 5 back on June 20; he could be live

with a good trip. #9 ORAZIO was troubled when third

behind Green Fleet two back then overcame a very wide

trip when breaking his maiden on August 21. Improving

type has run well on turf before. #6 GREEN FLEET beat

Orazio when breaking his maiden on August 2 then ran a

very good fourth in a blanket finish when bumping up to

face $40,000 non-twos three weeks later. He had some

trouble in his only turf try; a serious factor. #3 ZEPHAN

stumbled badly at the start in his season opener on June

20, never getting involved. He returns from some time on

the shelf; he has some talent and figures to be a fat price.

Race 6

#6 Maximus Momentus

#1 Commander Tom

#4 Secret Reserve

#9 Jocularity

#6 MAXIMUS MOMENTUS has shown speed before

faltering in both of his starts, both in races won by

Dragon’s Brew. He should appreciate the easier

company. #1 COMMANDER TOM has run well in both

starts to date, exiting a second behind the well-meant

Souper Classy. He could show some speed. #4 SECRET

RESERVE is by Giant Gizmo, out of an unraced mare

who has not been a great producer. This one has been

talked up as he outworked Muskoka Stakes-winner El

Bayern from the gate on August 9. #9 JOCULARITY is by

freshman sire Ami’s Holiday, out of Tory’s Humorgirl, who

has thrown the solid allowance mare Foxxy Belle. He

worked evenly with another foe in a set of three from the

gate on August 22.

Race 7

#9 Bexar

#4 Auburn Hills

#5 Dani’s Victory

#1 Mr. Diffley

#9 BEXAR, a $7,500 claim on opening win, exits back to

back wins against OS/$40,000 foes, both in front-running

fashion. He now makes the logical step into first level

allowance company; there is no dominant speed to his

inside so if he can clear to the front he should be tough.

#4 AUBURN HILLS will try a sprint for the first time in his

career. His last race was a disappointing effort in a race

won by Clayton; he returns from a near two-month

freshening. #5 DANI’S VICTORY had a very fast pace to

close into when winning a good quality $15,000/$7,500

starter on August 9. The former $5,000 claimer is in good

form and could upset with a good set up. #1 MR.

DIFFLEY overcame a wide trip to break his maiden in a

race that has proven to not be of great quality on June 7.

His two races since have not been bad; he has some

speed and draws well.

Race 8

#2 Afleet Katherine

#7 Infinite Patience

#1 Ballrooms of Mars

#4 Mizzen Beau

#2 AFLEET KATHERINE had two impressive wins in turf

sprints to kick off her career, then ran a big second in the

Woodbine Oaks. She should be sitting just off of the

pacesetters while saving ground and looks the one to

beat. #7 INFINITE PATIENCE was hustled to the front,

set a rapid pace and emptied out in the Woodbine Oaks.

Her local debut in the Fury was a very game run; she

deserves another look. #1 BALLROOMS OF MARS last

competed on August 2 when second behind

Justleaveitalone. She was never less than three wide in

that race and made a premature move approaching the

half-mile pole; she has had wide trips in all three of her

starts this season; with a ground-saving trip and a peak

effort she could upset. #4 MIZZEN BEAU was bothered

by Bayou Belle entering the first turn in the Woodbine

Oaks but recovered and ran a credible fourth. She should

be close to the pace.

Race 9

#9 Art of Almost

#10 Cambier Parc

#3 Elizabeth Way (IRE)

#1 Theodora B.

#9 ART OF ALMOST was near the back, tried to close

into the tepid pace with a wide bid on the far turn and

chased widest down the stretch in the Dance Smartly.

This race looks like it will have a quicker pace; on the

right day she’s good enough to beat these. #10

CAMBIER PARC had a solid three year old campaign in

2019, capped off with a pair of Grade 1 wins. The Queen

Elizabeth II Cup has only produced one filly who has

beaten older foes since that race, and that was a Florida-

bred race at Gulfstream. She has to tackle older for the

first time while coming off of an 11 month layoff; obviously

a threat but how low a price can you take? #3

ELIZABETH WAY (IRE) was able to prevail over Another

Time to win the Nassau, then stalked the pace and ran a

good third in the Dance Smartly. Her only bad race in

North America was a Churchill race in which she had a

wide trip. #1 THEODORA B. was able to get away with a

very slow pace in the Dance Smartly and was able to kick

on well when needed in the stretch. She is cross-entered

at Kentucky Downs and may not even come for this race;

she likely won’t have an easy a time on the lead if she

does compete here.

Race 10 - The Queen’s Plate

#9 Dotted Line

#10 Curlin’s Voyage

#2 Merveilleux

#12 Clayton

#9 DOTTED LINE was pressed on the lead and dug in

gamely in the stretch when finishing third in the Plate

Trial. A two-time Stakes winner at two, he seems to be

improving as he races much like he did last year. If he

can sit just off of the pace and fire a peak effort, he could

be the upsetter. #10 CURLIN’S VOYAGE was able to

rally up the inside and opened up in the stretch when

winning the Woodbine Oaks last time out. She seems like

she will be able to relax and fire; if she can get inside and

avoid a parked out trip she could prove very dangerous.

#2 MERVEILLEUX had some minor traffic turning for

home but found clear room and finished strongly to be

third in the Woodbine Oaks, galloping out very well. She

was wide throughout in the Selene, an excusable effort; if

she saves ground and has a clear path for her rally she

should be in the hunt. #12 CLAYTON had to work hard to

prevail in a stretch duel when beating Halo Again and

Dotted Line in the Plate Trial. His biggest weakness has

been his inability to settle in the early stages; however he

is lightly raced, clearly talented and if he gets his mental

act together he is probably the toughest horse in this

race.

Race 11

#4 Jeanie B (GB)

#5 Grey Seal

#6 Fairywren

#8 Spanish Ballerina

#4 JEANIE B (GB) exits a close second behind Sav in a

second level allowance. She is eligible for this condition

as she earned less than $9,000 in her second win in

Great Britain and should be very tough on this drop. #5

GREY SEAL likely should have won her most recent start

but got stopped trying to come up a tight rail path in the

stretch. She seems like a much improved horse this

season. #6 FAIRYWREN dueled on the lead and ran a

game fifth last time out. She actually cause Grey Seal,

her stablemate’s trouble as she made the inside path

tight in that race. #8 SPANISH BALLERINA set the pace

but was outkicked on the main track 13 days ago. She

had two very impressive wins against easier on the inner

turf before that; if she can get loose on the lead she could

be a threat.

Race 12

#1 Boardroom

#4 Our Secret Agent

#6 Artie’s Princess

#7 Avie’s Samurai

#1 BOARDROOM has won both of her starts to date in

impressive fashion. She has a ton of potential to develop

into a top level filly and doesn’t seem to be hooking any

world-beaters here. #4 OUR SECRET AGENT stalked

the pace and got up late to pick up Samurai Queen on

August 15. That one returned to win a first level

allowance on August 30 with a 75 Beyer; a logical choice

for the lesser shares. #6 ARTIE’S PRINCESS had an

easy win against first level allowance mares on opening

day, then went to Saratoga where was fourth in a turf

sprint Stakes but disqualified for stretch interference. Her

only loss on Tapeta was a very game second behind

Dotted Line in the Frost King. #7 AVIE’S SAMURAI was a

close second in the Ontario Colleen two weeks ago. She

previously beat Sav and O’Keeffe, both next-out winners,

in a second level allowance on July 26.

Race 13

#6 Guestimation

#13 Tallestofthetall

#11 Secret Path

#4 Giant Critic

#9 Green Growth

#6 GUESTIMATION was able to win on the front end in a

route in his first start off of an eight month break on July

24. He drops in for $25,000 in his first start against

winners. #13 TALLESTOFTHETALL made his local debut

in the first leg of the Turf Endurance series where he

failed to make a dent. He was in good form over the

polytrack at Turfway this winter; the post is his biggest

hindrance. #11 SECRET PATH closed to be third on

August 23, finishing behind Giant Critic. He has been

racing well enough; the blinkers come off. #4 GIANT

CRITIC was a game second behind King Causeway last

time out, outkicked by that one late in the stretch.

Although he broke his maiden in a sprint he seems to be

at his best around two turns. #9 GREEN GROWTH drops

in for $25,000 after a midpack finish against OS/$40,000

company. His best speed figures fit very well with this

bunch.
