The winner returned to win a first level allowance with a 77 Beyer last week. #2 SHE’S PROUD passed quite a few tiring foes in her debut on turf at Gulfstream but did not fare well on dirt at Keeneland. There could be a fairly hot pace for her to close into. #6 VAGARY was a non threat against the impressive debut winner Ciuri in a sprint on April 28. Her pedigree suggests routing could be good for her and she may improve with experience. This is a bit tougher of a group. #5 SMOOTH TALK was a lone speed winner against $40,000 non-winners of three. His winning Beyer fits but he may have to deal with early pace pressure. #2 CUMMINGS ROAD will make his 10 year old debut here. He comes off of a two-win season racing primarily between the $5,000 and $12,500 levels with competitive speed figures. She will stretch out to a route for her first start of the season. #6 QUEEN ANDHER COURT was not bad in her lone turf start to date when finishing sixth against maiden special weight foes last year. She was run down late for the win two weeks ago. #7 JULIE’S TAP DANCER got a perfect trip, sitting last in a race where every other foe lined up attempting to make the lead, then rallied to be second behind a heavily favoured, winter raced foe. Sligo Bay has been a productive turf route producer. Race 4 #8 Fat N Bitter Best Bet #6 Classy Vision #4 Broadway Bonnie #7 Sweet Brynlie #8 FAT N BITTER won back to back $16,000 events at Tampa before engaging in a three horse duel against allowance foes in her first start off of the claim, finishing a decent fifth on that day. If she takes to the synthetic she could surprise. #6 CLASSY VISION was last early and passed a few in the stretch last time out. She will be hoping for pace to close into. #4 BROADWAY BONNIE was rapidly making up ground on a tiring leader when missing by a nose for this price on April 26, earning a field-best 71 Beyer. #7 SWEET BRYNLIE was a decent third racing against the bias to kick off the season but failed to threaten in the drive last time out and will now take the drop in for $25,000. Race 5 #6 Trebek #8 Gold Sting #3 Rockbarton #2 Sandretti #6 TREBEK broke his maiden in a turf sprint where he opened up a large lead setting rapid fractions and never really being threatened. He is probably the fastest horse here and could be tough to run down if allowed to set his quick tempo. #8 GOLD STING ran well in a pair of turf routes at Tampa over the winter before failing to threaten in a start at Laurel. He cuts back to a sprint which is probably more suitable to him. #3 ROCKBARTON was a disappointing favourite for $7,500 on the Tapeta to kick off the season. He returns to the turf which appears to be his preferred surface. #2 SANDRETTI broke his maiden for $32,000 in August but tailed off after some attempts against tougher foes. He now takes a drop and tries turf for the first time.

#6 Vagary

#1 ART OF ALMOST exits a pair of very good races on

turf at Keeneland. In the most recent start she got a very

wide trip, dueled for the lead in the stretch and gave way

in the final furlong. She can be tough with a better trip. #4

NIIGON’S SPIN showed speed in her debut, then fell

back and had to steady midway around the second turn

but came back again in the stretch and galloped out well.

The winner returned to win a first level allowance with a

77 Beyer last week. #2 SHE’S PROUD passed quite a

not fare well on dirt at Keeneland. There could be a fairly

hot pace for her to close into. #6 VAGARY was a non

#8 Fat N Bitter – Best Bet

#6 Classy Vision

#4 Broadway Bonnie

#7 Sweet Brynlie

#8 FAT N BITTER won back to back $16,000 events at

Tampa before engaging in a three horse duel against

allowance foes in her first start off of the claim, finishing a

decent fifth on that day. If she takes to the synthetic she

could surprise. #6 CLASSY VISION was last early and

Race 6

#10 Irish You Luck

#2 Kewanne

#11 Banana Rama

#4 Double Crossed

#10 IRISH YOU LUCK finished third behind two winter

conditioned foes for $25,000 to kick off the season on

May 4 and now takes the next step down the class

ladder. #2 KEWANNE tailed off in her last couple of starts

last year but kicked off that campaign with a handful of

efforts that would be competitive with this group. #11

BANANA RAMA closed from last and was only ¼ length

behind Irish You Luck on May 4. The pace may be a little

slow for her to close into. #4 DOUBLE CROSSED has

raced against the bias in both of her starts this year,

racing wide on a gold rail first time out then saving ground

on a dead rail on May 10. She removes blinkers and is a

speed threat.

Race 7

#6 Gwendoline H

#11 Madison Way

#7 Midnight Brew

#9 Touch of Emma

#6 GWENDOLINE H was an easy winner at this level on

May 5. She now gets onto the turf, a surface she has won

half of her six starts over. #11 MADISON WAY was a bit

of an even third last time out when racing wide on a day

where the rail may have been at an advantage. She has

raced well on turf in the past. #7 MIDNIGHT BREW

started off 2018 in tremendous form but tailed off by the

end of the season. If she returns to that early season

form for her first start of the season she will be very

competitive. #9 TOUCH OF EMMA wrapped up 2018 with

a fairly easy win against non-winners of three in a race

where none of the pacesetters were factors in the finish.

She has a win on turf.

Race 8

#9 Documented

#2 Miss Danielle

#4 Find the Cat

#5 Slydini

#9 DOCUMENTED debuts as a four year old at the

bottom level. Of five siblings to race, four of them are

winners including debut winner Regal Mark. #2 MISS

DANIELLE ran wide against the bias for $25,000 in her

first start of the season. She then removed blinkers on a

drop to $15,000, got another wide trip and failed to

threaten. The blinkers go back on and she takes another

drop. #4 FIND THE CAT has gotten hooked in speed

duels in both of her starts this year. She will likely show

speed again but might be better off sitting just off of

Slydini. #5 SLYDINI was favoured for $25,000 last week,

showing speed but weakening in the stretch. She returns

at the bottom on short rest.

Race 9

#6 Vesperanza

#13 Katla’s Fury

#12 Grey Seal

#11 Silent Tango

#1 Echo in the Forest

#6 VESPERANZA made up some ground in her debut

but flattened out second time out when adding blinkers

and making a wide bid on the turn. The blinkers come off

for her turf debut. #13 KATLA’S FURY ran a good third

second time out behind a tough pair of Ontario Sired

foes. She didn’t fare as well in her next two starts when

adding blinkers; they come off today. #12 GREY SEAL

ran well in her first two starts when closing at a route,

then faltered when showing a bit more speed in her third

start. She was then put on the bench until March 1 where

she was a non-factor at Gulfstream. She drops in for a

tag and sprints for the first time. #11 SILENT TANGO just

got up for third in a short field in her first start after

attracting a $19,000 claim. She ran well in both of her

starts on turf last year. #1 ECHO IN THE FOREST raced

wide against the bias and was beaten less than two

lengths for second on opening day. She now tries turf for

the first time.
