    Soldiers of the Milky Way

Our efforts to continue the fight on the front lines of the galaxy-

wide war against the Reapers, as well as the co-opted Cerberus

and Geth forces, continue to be hampered as supply lines

across the galaxy are disrupted at every turn.

To combat this we have brought together a crack team of

operatives to get the weaponry you need out of the fabricationfacilities and into your hands. Attached to this broadcast are

the particulars of the new weapon stocks coming your way.

Whilst you will be familiar with many of the items, such as the

M-8 Avengerassault rifle and M-3 Predatorheavy pistol, we

have managed to locate and recover some rare weapons,

including caches of Geth weapons, Cerberus specials, and even

    some Prothean technology.

May you put these weapons to good use against the Reapers

and those who fight for them.

INTRODUCTIONWelcome to the latest instalment of material from the Mass Effect universeconverted for use with the FATE basedDiaspora Role Playing Game. This is acompanion document to theHacking Diaspora to Mass Effect v2.0.2game rules.Taking inspiration from the Mass Effect 3 co-operative multiplayer, I have createdthe following weapon cards as handouts for players to quickly reference, or to beused as randomised loot awarded by the GM.

Whilst there are a few card creation websites out there, these particular ones were

created withShenafus Card Creator, and the card-back is a cropped version ofUglynoodles N7 iphone wallpaper. The pictures are sized at the standard collect-able card dimensions of 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches, and simply need to be cut outwith their attached card-back, folded, and placed into a protective sleeve. Bestresults can be achieved by printing on a heavier, photo style paper to providestiffness.

Keep an eye out for future release updates, as this document is intended to be thefirst of a few card based supplements inspired by the ME3 multiplayer.

September 2012NEW STUNTS AND RULESSome of the weapons have been created with new stunts not found in the coreHD2ME rules. Some have a variant Thermal Clip stunt, Biotic Powercell andOverheated respectively, that cost and function identically to the original. Otherweapons have one of the new stunts detailed below. High Recoilhas also beenreworded slightly to expand the options available to characters. Lastly, there is anadditional option to account for weapon rarity across the Mass Effect galaxy.

High CapacityThermal Clip cannot be compelled, butcan still be activated by stunts or mods.

Incompatible with Single Shot ThermalClip stunt.Cost 1bp.

Single Shot Thermal ClipWeapon has the aspect OverheatedSingle Shot Thermal Clip which acti-

vates every round after firing, prevent-ing it from firing again until it clears atthe end of the players next turn.Cost -2bp.

High RecoilWeapon can only be fired every otherround unless the firer is prone, firingfrom cover, or is otherwise taking actionto support the weapon.Cost -1bp.

Armour-Piercing Double TapDouble the Penetration rating of theweapon at the cost of triggering itsunactivated Thermal Clip aspect.Cost 1bp.

Optional Rule - RarityRarity lists the pervasiveness of theweapon and its relative availability inthe galactic weapons market.

Common weapons (C) providea +1 bonus on wealth checksmade to purchase the weapondue to their ubiquity.

    Uncommonweapons (U) do not

provide a bonus on wealthchecks to purchase, but arenone-the-less still relativelystraightforward to track down.

Rare weapons (R) are difficultto come by and highly prized, giving a -1 penalty to purchasechecks.Special weapons (7) alreadycost 5 to purchase as they arebuilt with 13bp (T4). Theseweapons are uniquely designed

and difficult to obtain due to anadditional -1 penalty to checksto purchase them. They can,and should, have adventuresplanned around getting a holdof one of them.

ASSAULT RIFLESAssault rifles in Mass Effect are aclass of rapid firing ranged weapons, which also encompasses battle rifles, marksman rifles and light machine

    guns.

Awkward at extreme close range andnot suited for long distance targets, assault rifles typically have a range of1/3. Fully automatic rifles with a highrate of fire are represented with theDispersed Firestunt.

HEAVY PISTOLSHeavy pistols in Mass Effect are aclass of semi-automatic weapons, which have a fairly low rate of fire andlimited ammunition, but do relativelyhigh damage per shot. They are aninvaluable backup weapon.

Designed to be used at close range,

they typically have a range of 0/2 anddeal similar damage compared to as-sault rifles, though with some loss ofpenetration power.

They are able to hit targets outside ofthis reach though, unlike shotgunswhich work over a similar range, butare unable to hit more than one targetat a time like SMGs and shotguns.

SHOTGUNSShotguns are powerful close rangeweapons designed for characters whoprefer to get up close and personal inthe field of battle. Their high damageand ability to hit multiple targets istempered by being completely ineffec-tive outside their maximum range.

Most shotguns have a range of 0/1,with the Dispersed Fire and LimitedRangestunts, but comparable damageand penetration to most assault rifles.

A few shotguns have the ability toactivate their thermal clip for extradamage by using the Both Barrelsstunt, but doing so is best followed upwith a special ability of some kind nextturn as the gun cools down.

SUBMACHINE GUNSSubmachine Guns (SMGs) are a classof rapid firing weapons, including bothfully automatic and burst fire weapons. They generally have low accuracy andpenetration per shot, offset by theirthermal clip size and rate of fire.

Their rapid rate of fire is modelled by the

Dispersed Fire stunt, representing aspray-and-pray style sweep of theweapon, whereas the High Capacitystunt represents their large clip size.

They mostly have a similar range toHeavy Pistols at 0/2, but are ineffectiveoutside this range due to the LimitedRangestunt in much the same way asShotguns. Many SMGs also possessadditional aspects relating to their use assuppressive fire weapons.

SNIPER RIFLESSniper rifles are slow to fire and usuallyoverheat relatively quickly. They makeup for this by reliably hitting targets atlong range with plenty of punch.

Their Harm rating is typically better thanAssault Rifles, and their Penetrationrating is rarely exceeded by any other

weapon. Their general unsuitability fordealing with close targets makes thoseweapons that possess the AdvancedOptics stunt quite popular, whereasothers prefer the ability to penetrate highlevels of armour as if it wasnt there.

They typically have a minimum rangenot less than 3, but can reach out to themaximum range with ease. Predictably, they usually have High Recoil andLimited Range, with some furtherrestricted by having only a Single Shot

    Thermal Clip.
