Let’s “Think Scrip”

As We Plan for Thanksgiving Grandparents’ Day is on Friday, November 18. Scrip will be available that morning at the Scrip Store and then will be moved to the gym for any grandparents who would like to make a purchase that day.

We are so thankful for our grandparents here at CBCS. We have several grandparents who support our Scrip pro-gram. One of our supporting grandparents is Mr. Antosh. He has been purchasing Scrip for a few years now. Mr. Antosh got sick, and we didn’t see him for a while; but as soon as he recovered, he was right back in the office buy-ing Scrip. Thank you, Mr. Antosh!

Thanksgiving is just around the corner! As we prepare for it, whether we are traveling or staying home, let’s keep Scrip in mind.

Scrip offers Walmart which includes Sam’s Club. Also, check out our Publix and Winn-Dixie cards. If you are looking for a readymade Thanksgiving meal, we have Honey Baked Ham Scrip, too.

Are you going to be on the road for the holiday? Why not purchase gas cards from Scrip. WaWa and Shell are our most popular, but we also have Speedway, Walmart,

and Circle K.

Some of you will be eating out on Thanksgiving. Cracker Barrel makes a great Thanksgiving meal, I hear. Cracker Barrel Scrip comes in $10 and $25 increments.

Whatever your plans are, I pray you all have a blessed Thanksgiving! As always, think Scrip! Ms. Tuvell

Scrip Coordinator

Thank you for your support of our 25th Annual Walk/Run-A-Thon. All funds are designated for stairwell repair and new fencing. If we meet our school-wide goal of $10,000.00, we will get an extra day off from school on Mon., Nov. 28 (which is the Monday after Thanksgiving Break). We are in the process now of recording the dona-tions & collected pledges.

Every student who collected at least $50 from their flat donations and pledges by Oct. 28 will receive our annual Walk-A-Thon T-shirt. With at least $75 collected, they will also qualify for the CiCi’s Pizza Party. With $100 collected, they will enjoy Lunch & Bowling with Mr. Martin & Pastor West. The Grand Prize is a crisp $100 bill (actually two of them...one for the student collecting most in Elementary and one for most in Secondary). The

money must be collected and turned in by Oct. 28 to

qualify for the individual and class prizes. The class with the highest percentage of money collected by then will enjoy “PICNIC & GAMES” at the park! Also, the teacher of the very top class will receive a $25 Scrip gift card & a half day off, with Mr. Martin or Pastor West teaching the class!

Parents, we again thank you for your prayers and your continued support of Kingdom education.

Thank You to Our Business Sponsors:

We are most grateful to the following businesses that sponsored our Walk-A-Thon T-shirts:

Thanksgiving Donations Welcome

As we approach the Thanksgiving season, our minds are drawn to those who will not have abundance on their tables. Each year we band together to bless fami-lies with non-perishable food & also turkeys (or funds to purchase them). We as a Central family would like to provide food boxes to help those in our own community who are struggling at Thanksgiving. And we always need canned goods to re-stock our on-campus “Love Out Loud” food pantry. If you attend Central’s Harvest Festi-val on Nov. 5th, please bring a canned good for entry. If you have any questions, please call or email Pastor West: [email protected].

You may send in turkey money or donations of turkeys at any time. We have plenty of freezer space to store them. Let’s help be His hands and feet as we stay committed to being “service-minded.”

Walk-A-Thon Fun

It was a fun day for all. After the weather delay the previous week, our CBCS Lions were more than

ready to walk/run their laps! Thanks to all the parents & grand-

parents who turned out to cheer them on & help mark lap cards.

Cross Country Season Ends With Exciting Championship Meets

Mr. Keith Johnson, our Cross Country coach, reports a strong finish for both our Girls’ and our Boys’ 3rd grade & up team members at their championship meet at Holloway Park in Lakeland. It was a very challenging terrain for their 3-K race, with a steep starting slope. In the Girls’ race there were 60 runners, and we would like to congratulate Adriana Ellis, who placed 9th; Clarke Johnson, 31st; and Leah Tiemann, 44th. In the Boys’ 3-K race, there were 107 runners - and our CBCS Lions ran well, with Kendall Johnson, 23rd; Nathan Lawrence, 49th; and Frankie Hernan-dez, 73rd. Special congratulations to these six students and to all the other team members on a great season. At the High School level, our CBCS team ran well also. In their championship meet, the team came home with two medals. LeeJhai Wells won the 4th place medal. (He is pictured at right running in a previous meet at Bell Shoals.) Congratulations also to Josh

Lefranc, who won the 5th place championship medal. Way to go, CBCS Runners!

Our 11th & 12th graders participated in the Spirit FM “10-24 Project” by taking notes of apprecia-

tion, as well as coloring pages prepared by our Elementary students, to the station. The sheriff’s code

for send help is 10-24; so for the second year, Spirit FM launched its 10-24 Project, asking listeners to

bring thank-you notes & cards to be distributed to our law enforcement officers. Here are some of

our students putting into practice the “Service Minded” part of our CBCS mission statement:
