Good, philosophically speaking, is an abstract term for many, but not for us. The word good is at the core of everything we stand for. We are passionate about unearthing what good is and what isn’t.

We evaluate and test and argue the merits of good design. We seek to understand what makes the design of a product, a service, a space or an experience good.

Good design doesn’t mean expensive or exclusive - good design means that whatever it is, it works and works well. Sometimes so well it goes unnoticed. That’s why we ‘notice’ it for you.

Good design comes stamped with our Good Design® tick - the benchmark for innovation and design. We’ve been setting the international standard for good design since 1958. To get our ‘tick’ means whatever it is - has gone through a rigorous evaluation process conducted by an impartial judging panel of design experts.

We look for the things that give the user a beautiful experience, leaving them with a smile on their face. We’re advocates for those consumers who want an independent seal of approval to ensure the highest quality and best value for money.

Evaluation The Good Design Awards is regarded as one of the most prestigious and rigorous design awards in the world. In order to effectively judge entry submissions, a product sample* will be required for evaluation.

An independent expert judging panel will carefully assess each entry to select winners of the Good Design® Selection and Good Design Award®. Winning entrants at both levels are eligible to purchase the Good Design® Winners Package which ensures international recognition and promotion of the entry.*Product Design Category only

CelebrationThe Good Design Awards Gala Night is the design industry’s night of nights and a key event of the spectacular VIVID Sydney Festival. Walk the red carpet at this prestigious event where the Good Design Award® winners will be announced against a backdrop of colour and light.
