Impact Report 2011-2012 GLOW

Empowering students to succeed in college and life

Page 2: GLOW 2011-2012 Impact Report

Dear GLOW Community,

What an amazing year! We partnered with and helped build the capacity of 17 affiliate partners (schools, nonprofits, and univer-sities) across the state to provide financial literacy and college financial planning services to their students; helping put students on the path to a college degree. By July 31st, these affiliate part-ners will have delivered GLOW’s financial literacy and college financial planning curriculum to 3,500+ students at 51 sites in California with an average of 26% improvement in learning. With our resource partners, we provided 73 scholarships totaling $379,000 and 50 individual development accounts to GLOW’s affiliate students. Together we are putting students firmly on the path to college and life success.

With your continued support and partnership, GLOW will help thousands more first-in family, first generation, under-represent-ed, and low-income students realize their dream of a college edu-cation. As we roll out our leveraged model and deepen our work throughout California, GLOW will partner with school districts, schools and nonprofits to strengthen their capacity and help change the lives and stories of thousands more students.

Help in our effort to support schools and nonprofits to make a college degree a reality for our students in California.

Best,

“The GLOW budgeting chart that I was required to fill out opened my eyes to the financial gap that I was going to face next year. However, instead of stressing out, GLOW taught me how I could potentially decrease that gap by saving and budgeting.”
