TEACHING SUPPLY AT A GLANCE• In the 2013-14 academic year 55% of teachers in service at any time during the year had at least one period of sickness absence

• For those teachers taking sickness absence the average number of days lost was 7.9

• In November 2014 there were 1,030 vacancies for full-time permanent teachers in state-funded schools

• In 2013-14 a total of 2.21 million days were lost to teachers’ sickness absence

• The total number of days lost equates to an average of 4.3 days lost for every teacher in the UK

• In addition to these 1,030 vacancies, a further 3,210 full-time posts were being temporarily filled by a teacher on a contract

of at least one term

VETTING PROCEDURESClients can be assured that all of the following vetting procedures are taken out for each and every candidate:

• Full Qualification Checks, their original certificates must be produced for copying.

• A letter from the DFE confirming qualifications will suffice in cases where the original certificates are missing.

• Minimum of two professional teaching references are sought, one of which must be from the teachers most recent employer.

We understand just how crucial compliance is therefore the following checks are carried out on each candidate:

• Identity Check x2

• UK Visa or Right to work check

• List 99 Check

• GTC Registration Check

• Health Check

• National Insurance Number Check

• Face to Face Registration & Interview Process

• All Teachers are issued with our Child Protection, Code of Practice and Equal Opportunities Policies

• Disqualification by Association Check

• On average we are registering over 30 compliant education candidates per week

• Since September we have successfully placed 238 candidates into temporary placements within West Midlands Schools

• We have also secured permanent positions for 24 candidates across the UK

• Each week over 45 education establishments within the West Midlands area are experiencing the benefits of our services
