• If Class A assemblage is required, certain underlayments may be necessitated.

• See manufacturer's ICC Report for specific information.

• Screws or nails can be used to fasten panels.

• In high wind areas, additional fasteners might be needed to meet local building codes.

• Less expensive underlayments are adequate due to Gerard Stone Coated Metals dry below nature.

Benefits of Over-the-Deck VentingThe Department of Energy commissioned Oak Ridge National Labs to conduct a study of infrared-blocking color pigments. Ten decks were tested for one year to include both summer and winter conditions.

The results of the study?Heat transfer was reduced by approximately 45%

• 15% could be attributed to the IR-pigment granules

• 30% was attributed to batten/counter batten installation (over the deck venting).

Subject: Fwd: my roof

Hi Matt,

Hope all is well. Today while working in the yard I realized that my gable fan wasn't running.

It was 92 degrees outside and I knew that the attic temperature had to be at least 120

degrees. My attic fan automatically turns on when the temperature reaches 105 so I went

into my attic to see what was wrong. I couldn't believe it. The attic was only 94 degrees!

Two degrees warmer than outside with a bright sun. I’ve seen it with my own eyes. The

new roof you installed is going to cut my A/C bill way down. Plus we have received several

compliments on the appearance of our home. We are so pleased and had to let you know.

Thanks a lot.

For Trim Caps:BV, CS, Tile: Add all of the lineal feet of the hip, ridge, rake and divide by 1.2.

Add 3 extra pieces for every junction area . For the Shingle do the same except do not add lineal feet of rake.

Accessories

For Starter, Fascia, Z-Bar, Valley, & etc: Add all of the above material comes in 10’ sticks. Be sure an allow for

overlap and round up.

For Batten: All batten are calculated on a 1:1 ratio. For every square foot of roof space, you calculate 1 lineal foot batten. For counter batten take the amount of battens required for the job and multiply by .7
