Flora and FaunaAfrica has a variety of plants and habitats. South is known as the home of 20,000 different types of

plants. They have the nearly 10% of all the plant species on

earth. On the dry western part of the country, aloes and

euphorbias can be found. Baobab trees can be found in the northeastern part of

the country. Grassland covers the largest area of the country. South Africa has national parks and national reserves

to protect animals.

Climate Southern Africa climate has warm, sunny days and cool

night. Rainfall generally occurs during the summer and in the

southwest around Cape Town, rainfall occurs in winter. South Africa is surrounded by Atlantic Ocean on the west

and Indian ocean on the east. Winters in South Africa are between June and August. The

western part of the country has a Mediterranean climate with warm to hot, dry, sunny summer weather and mild, and rainy conditions in winter.

The country is divided with three geographical areas the central plateau Highveld, the costal plains Lowveld and the desert area Kalahari basin.
