Asturias is located in what is called “Green Spain” Main types of vegetation: oak, beech and yew in

the centre and oaks, chestnut in the south.

Lakes and RiversRivers in Asturias are very short and flowing.They end in the Cantabric sea.Main Rivers: Sella, Nalon and NaviaMain lakes: Enol, and Covadonga Lakes are small.

MountainsThey’re not higher than 3000 metres, and

they’re mainly located in the south.Main mountains: Torrecerredo (2648 m) and

Naranjo de Bulnes (2519 m).

Covadonga LakesThey’re a group of three lakes located in the

region of Cangas de Onís. The lakes are called Enol, Ercina and Bricial. This last one only has water during the meltdown.

Picos de EuropaIt’s a montanious area in the south of

Asturias. It’s divided in three parts: Cornión (in the occident), Urrieles (in the centre) and Ándara (in the oriental part). The most important peaks are Torre Cerredo and Naranjo de Bulnes.
