MAKE A WISH FOUNDATION: GARDEN GATE CHILDREN HELPING OTHER CHILDREN

Our student council has adopted the Make a Wish Foundation as our charity this year. Our students are collecting everythrom loose change to larger donations for this very worthy cause. Please read the excerpt below from the Make a W

Foundations website:Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has enriched the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through

wish-granting work. The Foundation's mission reflects the life-changing impact that a Make-A-Wish experience has on childreamilies, referral sources, donors, sponsors and entire communities.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation was founded in 1980 after a little boy named Chris Greicius realized his heartfelt wish to becom police officer. Since its humble beginnings, the organization has blossomed into a worldwide phenomenon, reaching more th74,000 children around the world. Although it has become one of the world's most well-known charities, the Make-A-W

Foundation has maintained the grassroots fulfillment of its mission.

A network of nearly 25,000 volunteers enable the Make-A-Wish Foundation to serve children with life-threatening medionditions. Volunteers serve as wish granters, fundraisers, special events assistants and in numerous other capacities. As t

Foundation continues to mature, its mission will remain steadfast. Wish children of the past, present and future will have pportunity to share the power of a wish.

All of our classes are participating in the fundraiser and they have set goals for themselves. They and their teachers haecided on class rewards if they meet their goals. If we raise $2,000 as a school, I will happily dress up as a chicken for the dnd visit classrooms (in no pecking order) to thank our children for helping other children who so need the power of a wish.

Please help us meet our goal! Thank you.
