    1. Use Flop Car d and then expose.

    2. Show foular d and say Nothing Here (show one side) then nothing here,(show other side) then quickly say N othing Here a nd quickly point to head, audience

    3. Mar k one ace in 4 ace trick on back w ith a s mall drop of ink and this doesaw ay w ith peeking to fin d which pack is the aces.

    5. T his trick was also invented by a very famous C h i n e s e magician by the name of ONE LU NG but he didnt live very long.

    7. When using GRANT S T EA K ET T LE say, I went into a saloon ordered twobeers and they didnt cost me a cent. A ssis tant asks How s that ? Mag i says I drank one and let the other settle.

    8. When doing V anishing Wa nd say To prove wa nd is solid I w ill rap it on this

    block of wood and then tap assistant on head with wand.

    9. When doing mental card trick say .. I w ant you to be so quiet you will hear thiscard drop on the floor, when you drop card have your assistant drop a brick on the floor , behind table. A good laugh.

    10. While perfo rming ropes on neck say I f tr ick w orks the ropes will come offof boys neck, if trick doesnt work his neck will come off of the ropes.

    11. If y ou use a large silk streamer remark : Here is a little handkerchief I useon Sundays.

    14. Money talks tha ts why you see a picture of a woman head on some coins.

    15. If you do Fis h Bowl production instead ofusing wa ter and gold fish useimitation bird cages and silks. T his makes a very pretty production.

    16. Place a large silk fo ulard under flower s in fire bowl and when fire is changed to flowers the silk drapes itself over sides of fire bowl.

    17. If you do Gra nts Lota bowl afte r producing wate r wipe bowl out w ith handkerchief, pick a bunch of spring roses under cover of hanky and drop in lota thenproduce flowers in the bowl. T his makes a beautiful finish.

    18. When doing V anishing Wa nd tell audience T he Ea st Indians perf orm thisfeat w ith a tw ig of a tree but you say T wig of a tweee. T his may not sound funny tothe performer but always gets a laugh from the audience.

    19. Whe n doing a rope tri ck tell audience you w ill show them three ends to arope, point to one end, then the other and then throw rope o ff stage and say tha ts theLhird end.

    20. If you do a trick production tell your audience you call this trick Ding Dong

    and as you say Ding Dong have assistant ring a small desk bell twice.

    21. If you use Jack Gw y nns rabbit vanish tell them you are going to show them the little pig that went to heaven, then do your vanish.

    22. Gw y nns Rabbit vanish box makes a wonder ful silk production box. T ry it y ou w il l be supr is ed a t the re sult.

    23. If you use a little girl to assist you in any trick always g ive her a little gif t of some kind. T his usually gets you a retur n engage ment.

    24. While pe rfo rming ropes on neck tell your ass istant to turn up boys collar so asnot to chafe his neck with ropes, under cover of turning up collar assistant drops two strings of sausages down his back, later on in trick magi produces sausages.

    25. During some trick Mag i rema rks : this trick is almost as simple as I am.

    26. The old tric k of producing cigarettes at the fing er tips may be worke d by producing a cigare tte and then apparently tossing it to assistant across stage who also hasa producer, and appare ntly catches ciga rette tossed by performer .

    27. If y ou do 4 ace tric k use this routine. . place jack s, queens, king s, on top ofpack and on top of these place twelve cards, then do the usual 4 ace routine but when

    y ou f in is h y ou w il l f in d you w il l hav e aces in des ired pac k an d in the ot her thr ee packs you w il l hav e the ja ck s, queens an d king s. In th is method y ou do aw ay w it h the use ofthe crimp.

    28. When you do fis h bowl production tell audience you will now show them y our impression of the black sea and under cover of foulard drop ink tablet in water.

    31. A little routine w ith a changing bag, hkg. pedastel, and a red silk, load large red silk in bag, show pedastel, place glass upside dow n on pedastel and cover w ith handker chief. T ake a small red silk and tell audience you w ill vanish silk by placing it in bag, actually place silk in bag but apparently place it in your pocket, the audience

    w il l hol le r an d te ll y ou th at y ou hav e s ilk in y our pocke t (they nev er f a il to do th is ) y ouhave a silk in your pocket placed there before show, you take this out and tell them you

    ju s t put it the re to see i f the y wer e pa y in g at te nt ion bu t y ou w il l now ac tua lly place it in the bag and you actually do place it in the bag, now your assistant turns handle of

    changing bag and you produce the large red silk, have assistant show bag empty and produce red silk in glass on pedestal.

    A good comedy sucke r g ag in th is tr ic k is w or ke d in thi s m a nn e r : w hen y ou plac esecond red silk in changing bag take your hand out o f bag closed, the audience think

    y ou hav e s ilk in y our ha nd an d the n y ou ca n w or k the old sucke r g ag of show ing y our left hand empty (they w ant to see the rig ht hand) and a t the las t show your rig ht hand empty. No te :T his is a real comedy trick and w ill bring plenty of laughs when

    y ou show y our r ig ht ha nd empt y .

    32. T ry to lig ht a match a number of times and the last time have assistant shootoff a 22 blank.

    33. Bet anyone you have two matches in your hand (afte r placing two matches on

    y our pa lm ) He w il l bet y ou hav ent, the n as k hi m I f I am w r on g w il l y ou buy me abeer? and you always get the answer yes, then say I am wrong.

    34. Bet anyone you can stand on one side of a sheet of paper and they can stand on the other and they w ont be able to hit you. Se cr et: you place pape r under door,

    y ou s ta nd on one side of door an d the other fe llow on the other side of door .

    35. A little gag for the ropes on neck .. Have boy place hands up in fr ont of himand ask him if he knows why you placed his hands in that position and when he says no tell him thats so he can eaten nis hed when it drops down.

    36. Whe n you have boy up fr om audience helping you move fir s t one hand andthen the other and then move his head and as you do this have your assistant blow one of those little auto horns that w ork by pressure. Have ass istant do this under cover of table. Ver y funny.

    37. Invite boy up fr om audience and ask him if he chews gum (have a packagein your hand) . Tell him it looks bad and to stop it.

    38. Bet tha t you can craw l into a pint bottle. T han lay a pint bottle on one side ofstage and go to the other side of stage and get down on your hands and knees and crawl in to the bottle.

    39. If you have trouble lig hting fir e bowl by the old method, use an ordinar y wooden match, light it by scratching it across your thumb nail and under cover of folard toss it in bowl. T his will wor k every time, no misses.

    40. A sk a boy his name. Dur ing the trick he is assisting you w ith, call him adiffer ent name every few seconds. Good for a number of laughs.

    41. Tell boy to do this tr ick he must sneeze.

    42. B ring boy up to help w ith Phantom tube, tell him to look at back of hall andclose both eyes. T hen ask him w hat he sees? Natur ally he will say NO T HIN G Nowtell him to open one eye and close the other, just like he was going to wink at his little girl friend, (a good laugh here) then place tube over open eye and ask him what he seesin the tube and nine times out of ten he will see the audience and say, I see a lot ofpeople Wo rk this up as it is good fo r plenty of laughs.

    43. In any trick where you use a plate or g las s: have a window smasher (this isa little novelty used to imitate breaking glass and is sold by Santinis Magic Studio) tell audience that plate or glass is solid, and you make believe you are going to throw it on floor to prove it solid, and your assistant drops (while she is s tanding back of center table) the w indow smasher on floor. T hen wa tch the look on spectators faces as theysee you still holding plate or glass.

    44. Always take out your false teeth when doing the HO UD INI N EE DL E T RICK .

    45. For the T elephone directory and spir it slate test use chang ing bag to forcenumber s on spectator. Hav e one set of numbers in one side of ba g )pag e numbers ( and another set in other side of bag (name Numbers).

    46. Use Chinese gong to open your show in this ma nne r: Str ike it three times very

    loud and then drop it on the floor, making a loud bang and listen to your audience laugh.

    47. A few hints to Magicians who have children come on stage during show :

    Dont make them feel foolish.

    Let them do as much of the trick as possible. i

    Dont giv e them the impres sion you are s uper- human.

    48. Place one of those ex ploding g immicks that use a paper cap, in a news paper and have boy open paper just before you do the paper tearing trick.

    49. T ell boy to hold lef t leg up in the ai r (whe n he does this ) tell him to keep it

    there and then put the right leg up in the same way.

    50. Tell audience in yo ur nex t act you w ill have a complete change of costumeand come out we aring a very flashy red tie. (O f course, you must we ar your other clothes also).

    51. Per forme r comes on stage drag ging a larg e trunk , opening trun k he takes acoin, show trunk empty and starts coin manipulations.
