Gravity Light Hollow Alloy Double, DH SingleFSA has developed an exclusive bladder molding process that enables a

true high modulus carbon fiber monocoque structure. The resulting shape is hollow inside the arms and all the way around the spider. Only a slender I-beam shape remains inside the outer skin to carry shear stresses through the body. All excess internal weight has been removed from the structure, yielding an unbelievable weight of 610 grams for the K-Force Light Compact BB30 road crankset. The MTB version of the K-Force Light weights 720 grams in the BB30 triple version, and 690 grams in the Compact 386 version. No comparable crankset is lighter.

BB 30 is LIGHTER: By eliminating the BB cups and using an alloy spindle, the weight of the crank and BB assembly can be reduced by up to 12%

BB 30 is NARROWER: With the bearings inside the BB shell, the width of the crank at the spindle is reduced, increasing ankle clearance.

BB 30 is STIFFER: The oversized spindle increases the stiffness of the crankset. New EFBe testing dramatically illustrates these results.

BB 30 is MORE DURABLE: BB30 bearings are significantly larger than those used in other systems, resulting in longer bearing life.

K-Force Light is the first FSA crankset to come with a ceramic bearing bottom bracket. FSA ceramic ball bearings are up to 10 times harder, and maintain a surface perfection that is much higher than steel bearings, allowing for a 3-4% reduction in mechanical friction.

Tests by the Danish magazine Cykel-Motion (Mar 2005) and subsequently supported by calculation, show how using ceramic bearings can reduce rolling resistance by 50%, saving 22m in just 55 seconds at 32kph. In short, an astounding speed improvement of 4%. Further tests confirmed by the Danish cycle magazine Cykel Magasinet (Sep 2005), describe dramatic reductions in friction compared to conventional cycle bearings.

The XC-500 picks up where other trail wheelsets leave off. More and more riders are seeking a wheel that is tougher than their current XC set, but don’t want to push the mass of a wheel designed for DH or freeride. The XC-500 is intended to blur the line between strength and performance.

When the route makes your buddies dismount and hike, the deep triangular shape of the XC-500 rim will stay round even if things go pear-shaped. A rim bed with no spoke holes allows for tubeless tire mounting without a rim strip. Stout but elegant machined and anodized hubs spin on ABEC sealed bearings, and of course a ceramic upgrade is possible.

FSA changed road crankset design with the Compact Revolution, now the Compact Revolution has arrived for lightweight mountain bikes.

386 is a radical new compact crank design that allows smaller chainring combinations by using a 3-arm spider and 86mm bolt circle diameter. 386 allows 42/27T or 40/27T combinations, more closely replicating the gearing range of a traditional three ring design in a lighter package. Less weight, simpler function and no-sacrifice gear range are the hallmarks of the Compact Revolution. 386 continues the tradition.
