SCHOOL UNIFORM: All Students and Parents are reminded that
Cardinia Primary School adopted a Compulsory
School Uniform over 12 months ago. As a result it
is expected that all students will wear their
correct uniform to school, including windcheaters,
caps/hats and other attire.
It is preferable for students to wear uniform
items that have the School Logo but quite
acceptable for students to wear items of clothing
that match the school colours, with most items
being Navy Blue, except for T-shirts or polos that
are Jade Green.
If students are unable to wear their uniform on
any given day, then a note needs to be written
and signed by parents. A copy of the uniform
policy is on the School’s website or further
information can be obtained from the office or
your child’s teacher.
We currently have over 100 items of various
uniform items in lost property, including many
jumpers and bomber jackets. If your child is
missing these items please check out the Lost
Property Cupboard which is located outside the
office.
Besides uniform items there is a huge collection
of drink bottles and lunch containers. Next week
these items will be displayed on the tables
outside the Techroom and any unclaimed items
will be sold off as part of the school’s Second
Hand Uniform Shop at the start of Term 3.
MRS PARKER ON LEAVE: Throughout Term 3 Mrs Parker will be taking
much deserved Long Service Leave. As a result
Mrs Fleming will be taking over her duties in the
Art Room and Classroom assistance in the Junior
School.

The life of a red rose by Alicia M 5T
Today it looks dark, but it could be sunny.
I am closed up, like a little red bunny.
The sun is hot, it’s probably bright!
I will find out, When I see the light.
Not it is hot, I am very thirsty.
I am being watered, by a girl named Kirsty.
I opened up today, it was very fun.
The thing that made me open, just happened to be the sun.
Kirsty cut my stem, it didn’t hurt a lot.
She put me in a vase, it’s sort of like a pot.
Today is the day I feared the most, I won’t forget what I’ve done.
The last thing I want to say is, thank you thank you dear old sun!
ATTENDANCE
If your child is unwell, the best place for them is to rest at home. If they do need to
stay at home you can call the office and Virginia or Sue will complete an Attendance
Note on your behalf. When they return to school however, the Education Department
requires a signed note from the parent. There are blank notes available from the
office. Please ensure one is completed and handed into the Office so our records are
up to date and accurate.

Grade 6 Poems
GAME DAY by Max
Sunbeam: by Ebony
The shining sun, Lit the forest floor.
As the birds chirped, Asking for more.
When three riders, Came through on their mares.
The shining sun grew lighter, With the enormous glares.
The sunbeam hit, The forest trails.
As the mares pranced, And swished their tails.
The birds still chirping away, Asking for the gleam,
But soon the trees, Had covered the golden beam.
With the riders still on their trail, And the soon coming night.
The trail was now over, As was the light.

Grade 6 Poems
Gold Coast: By Cameron Gary Ablett is no longer the light,
He’s got no might!
I don’t think Gold Coast like the nickname- “Sun Beam”.
Watching the Suns, make me dream.
I wish I had some bun,
While watching the Gold Coast Suns.
It sometimes gets boring,
I’d rather be snoring,
Now the week is done.
Gold Coast can’t give a contest,
But they can give a Honk-test.
Gold Coast can’t get the moves,
But they certainly get the boos.
Now the month is done.
Gold Coast act like boys!
As I wish they were toys.
Sun Beam: by Rhiannon The sun shone, On to the field.
It was so bright, I needed a shield.
I walked onto the field, And was surrounded by flowers.
I walked for a few minutes, But I could’ve walked for hours.
The sun was hot, And the Sunbeams were bright.
And through a broken glass, The grass was now alight.
I turned around, And saw a flame.
Then the clouds came over, And at last there was rain.
The rain fell down, And put out the flame.
Then I relaxed, And wasn’t to blame.
I went inside, And went to bed.
I’d had a great day, Thank goodness, I’m not dead!

Grade 6 Poems
The Sun Beam: by Larson I love the beautiful sun beam, it gives me lots of joy, The sun can sometimes look like a steam, the sun can also look like a toy. I love the majestic rays from the sun. The sun beam had burned me once. It is fun to run, to run with the sun of course. I love the crimson red, looking out the window laying in my bed, My mum said “get out and play instead” “That is what I’m doing” I said. In the night I wonder where does the sun go, I thought it had hid from me, Then the wind will blow. I woke up the next, morning and there he was waiting for me to see. In the middle of the sky the sun shinning so bright. Then the sun had diserpiered I thought he must have been shy. 2 minutes later he came out to play with a big smile on his face. I realized he had lots of space and there I was with him for the rest of the day.
Sun Beam: By Teagan
Out in the Shadows the trees hallow, there is no sun, there is no fun. There is only
fear that no one can hear.
But one day the sun comes out to play, the kids start to run, and we all have fun,
there is lots of light, it’s a beautiful sight.
But no-one thought, that we could be caught, by the haunting shallows, that made the
trees hallow, but it had came, the sun was done.
The shadows were back, everyone grabbed a sack, Once again, there was no sun,
there was no fun, There is only fear, that no-one could hear.
The sun had gone, the darkness shone, BUT
There was one last hope, there was a small rope.
It was made out of daisy chains, I know it sounds insane.
The next day, the sun was out to play, everybody started to run, we all had so much
fun,
There is lots of light, it’s a great sight. I hope the sun mends, this is where my story
ends.
