REDDAM HOUSE CELEBRATES CAPE TOWN AS THE WORLD DESIGN CAPITAL 2014
Cape Town has officially been designated as the World Design Capital (WDC) for 2014, being chosen out of 56 global cities. This prestigious status is designated biennially to cities that have used design as a tool to reinvent themselves and improve social, cultural and economic life. A World Design Capital designation gives a winning city global focus during a year-long programme of design-led events. In support of the WDC, the College Design Department will be profiling the design work of our students throughout the year in the foyer reception. This week’s designer was Grade 12 student, Tarryn Roots with her campaign for the Endangered Wildlife Trust. (see display on right)
French Connection Twenty visitors from Reunion Island arrived on Thursday, 27 February and have settled happily into Reddam families. On Friday an impromptu football match began between the visitors and some Reddam boys – some of whom do not even study French! The match moved to the Cricket oval, and the French students were reluctant to go home.

From the Drama Department
The Grade 11 students performed their outstanding self-written and directed workshopped plays on Wednesday 4th March. These thought-provoking and very entertaining plays really resonated with their audience. The depth of talent in our Drama Department was more than evident. We look forward to the Drama Showcase on 3rd April. This evening of the best pieces drawn from the Grade 10, 11 and 12 groups is certain to produce the same high standard of work.
