The golf- ers all looked happy as they passed by Rotary’s ‘wet hole’, where they enjoyed the Schnapps we offered them. Thanks to John Sharwood, Carrie Riches, Chanté Wright, Lindi Gillespie, Linsley and Denise who all helped there. A very special thanks must go to those who donated or sourced prizes for the golfers and for the auction. John Sharwood outdid himself in this matter by offering a huge number of things! Julia Gooden - 2 night stay plus golf @ St Francis Links; Andrew Binning - 2 night stay for 4 at Hopewell; Leigh Deyzel - 4 x season tickets for cricket; Liezel Haarhoff - 10 bottles of wine for the tables; Kas Kasongo - a 10 year old bottle of wine; the GFI Gallery - 4 Ron Belling prints; Denise Pudney - 4 x meal vouchers for The Coachman and 5 x jewellery prizes from Jenni Gault International. We do not yet know how much money was raised for our club’s projects, but it will probably be over R30 000! ANNIVERSARIES THANK YOU SO MUCH, PSG Wealth!

Heritage Day on the 24th was a beautiful sunny day,
and it was good that 5 of our Rotarians were able to
be there to honour the late John Stadler.
Annatjie Stadler really appreciated our presence!
Great things were said about John and what he had
done at Sumcay for the youth of Port Elizabeth.
Rotary was mentioned many times as our club - as well as other Rotary clubs - had added to and assisted with
various materials over a period of many years - mostly through John Stadler, who always said ‘I just happened
to be sitting next to ..…” who was able to supply the necessary timber / glass / bricks or whatever was needed.
