1. Enjoy some of the best whale-watching in the worldThe Fraser Coast is known as Australias Home of the

Humpbacks for a reason! The waters off Hervey Bay

offer a natural playground for thousands of the majestic

creatures and the best up-close whale watching encounters

in the world. Its also home to dwarf minke, false killer,

southern right and many other whale species as well as

rare dolphins, dugongs and six of the worlds seven species

of marine turtles. A marine wonderland!

2. Get hooked on some world class shingThe Fraser Coast is Australias best all year round

destination for an unforgettable boating and fishing

experience - but dont just take my word for it. Grab your

fishing gear and find a spot on the beach, riverbank or

pier; head out on a boat or take a fishing charter and find

out for yourself. A word of warning though - youll be hooked!

3. Explore World Heritage listed Fraser IslandThe Fraser Coast is the gateway to Fraser Island where

towering rainforests, pristine freshwater streams and

snow-white sand contrast with blue-green lakes and

coloured sand cliffs. Steeped in 800,000 years of

Aboriginal Dreamtime tradition, Fraser Island is the worlds

largest sand island and provides a sanctuary for some

350 species of birds, wallabies, possums, echidnas and

Australias purest dingoes. A must-see for all visitors!

4. Have a blast exploring Queenslands colonial pastIn Maryborough, you can discover history served with a

side order of fun with haunted sites, time cannons, 19th

century costumed guides and intriguing museums.
