GOSPEL: John 9:1-41 OR 9:1, 6-9, 13-17, 34-38: John's story of the man born blind weaves together the themes of light, sight, and insight. Jesus heals the man so that he can see. However, the Pharisees remain blind because they refuse to see who Jesus really is. They are more concerned about the Sabbath laws than they are about a fellow human being in need. The blind man gains not only his sight but also insight. When Jesus identifies himself as the Son of Man, a title for the Messiah, the man says, "I do believe, Lord." And he worships Jesus. As we worship Jesus in the Eucharist, our eyes are opened to see Christ in others 1.) The first verse of the hymn "Amazing Grace" reminds us of this gospel passage. Why? Here are the words:

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me.

I once was lost but now I'm found, Was blind but now I see.

Who are the "truly blind" people in this gospel story? How can you keep from going through life "blind" to the reality of Jesus and his love in your life? How will you stay alert to really see and care for those who need Jesus' healing touch?

EVANGELIO: Juan 9:1-41 OR 9:1, 6-9, 13-17, 34-38: La historia de Juan sobre el hombre que nació ciego enlaza los temas de la luz, la vista y la ceguera. Jesús sana al hombre para que pueda ver. ¿Quiénes son los "verdaderamente ciegos" en esta historia del evangelio? ¿Qué puedes hacer para no ir ciego a la realidad del amor de Jesús en tu vida? ¿Cómo te mantendrás alerta a la rea-lidad de ver y cuidar de los que necesitan el toque sanador de Jesús?

Lavado De los Pies: Se les invita para lavarle los pies el Jueves Santo en la Misa de las 7:30pm., el 17 de abril. Doce personas de dife-rentes edades y nacionalidades tendrán el lavado de pies por un sacerdote. Otros estarán sentados en la asamblea en el lado del centro, y los doce apóstoles iniciales le lavarán los pies a los que hayan firmado. Flores Para la Semana

Santa: Necesitamos lirios (calla lilies) y

otras flores para decorar los altares el Jue-ves Santo. Por favor tráigalas a la oficina parroquial antes del miércoles 16 de abril. También puede traer flores de primavera para decorar la iglesia para el Domingo de Pascua. Las puede dejar en la rectoría el sábado 19 de abril por la mañana. Gracias por su generosidad.

Decorando para la Pascua: Necesitamos ayuda decorando y limpiando la iglesia para la Pascua. Por favor venga el Jueves 17 de abril (Jueves Santo) a las 2:00pm y el Sábado de Gloria (abril 19) de 11:00 a 4:00pm. Puede venir de una a dos horas. Gracias por su ayuda.

Campanitas:

No se olviden de traer sus campanitas a la liturgia del Jueves Santo (17 de abril). Y para la Vigilia Pascual el sábado de Gloria (19 de abril). Estas se tocarán a la hora del “Gloria.”

“Youth, Wake Up!”

(¡Jóvenes, despierten!) es el tema central de la Misa

Juvenil Carismática Arquidioce-sana de Sanación en inglés que tendremos aquí en la Epifanía el viernes, 4 de abril. La

celebración comenzará con el Santo Rosario a las 6:30pm seguida por la Misa concele-brada por el Rev. Mylo H. Vergara, Obispo

de Pasig, Filipinas, y el Rev. Raymund Reyes, Párroco de St. Anne of the Sunset. Se hará

un énfasis especial en San Pedro Calungsod. El fue un catequista adolescente filipino que en 1672 fue martirizado junto con el sacer-dote Jesuita español Diego Luis de San Vito-res en Guam. San Pedro fue canonizado el

21 de octubre del 2012. Entre los grupos participantes estarán:

Junior Apostolate for Christ, Youth for Christ, The Lord’s Flock New Generation, and BLD o

Bukas Loob sa Diyos Youth Ministry. Este evento es co-patrocinado por el Grupo de

Coming Up Soon: Exposition of the Blessed Exposition of the Blessed Exposition of the Blessed

Sacrament:Sacrament:Sacrament: There will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament on Friday, April 4th from 8:30am-5:00pm, with Benediction at 5:00pm. This will take place in the Altar Servers’ sacristy to the right of the altar.

Washing of the Feet: You are invited to have your feet washed at the Mass on Holy Thursday, which will be on April 17th at 7:30pm. First, twelve people of different ages and nationalities will have their feet washed by the priest. Then, others will be sitting in the center aisle of the assembly, and the initial twelve “apostles” will then wash their feet. If you are interested in having your feet washed, please leave your name and telephone number at the Parish Office (415) 333-7630. A meeting will be scheduled.

Bells, Bells, Bells: Don’t forget to bring small bells to ring during the Gloria on Holy Thursday, April 17th and the Easter Vigil, April 19th.

Decorating for Easter: We need help decorating and cleaning the church for Easter on Holy Thursday, April 17th at 2:00pm and Holy Saturday, April 19th, from 11:00am-4:00pm. Please come by for an hour or two. Thank you!

“Youth, Wake up!” is the theme of the April 4th Catholic Charismatic Youth Mass and Healing Service at Epiphany, with an emphasis on the

Filipino teen saint Pedro Calungsod. St. Pedro, canonized Oct. 21, 2012, was a catechist from the Philippines who was martyred in Guam in 1672 with Spanish Jesuit Father Diego Luis de San Vitores. The San Francisco Archdiocesan Catho-lic Charismatic Renewal event will begin with recitation of the rosary at 6:30pm, followed by Mass at 7:30pm. The Mass celebrants will be Bishop of Pasig, Philip-pines, Mylo H. Vergara, with Fr. Raymund Reyes, Pastor of St. Anne of the Sunset. Among the youth groups participating will be Junior Apostolate for Christ, Youth for Christ, The Lord’s Flock New Genera-tion, and BLD or Bukas Loob sa Diyos Youth Ministry. Also sponsoring the event will be the Epiphany of the Lord prayer group and the Filipino Consultative Board. We hope to see you there!
