Miss Teneyia Scarborough

From August 26, 2012 . . . Where is Teneyia now?

As an active member of the Youth Ministry of New First

Baptist Church (Taylorsville), Miss Scarborough is a member of the Junior Usher Ministry (serving as Ministry Leader), Steelettes Youth

Choir, Junior Missionary Ministry, Angels with Wings Praise Dance Ministry, and attends the Junior Girls Sunday School Class, Youth Bible

Study, and Vacation Bible School. Psalm 118:24, “This is the day which the LORD

hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it,” is her favorite scripture and “Something

About the Name Jesus” is her favorite Christian song.

Teneyia, daughter of Sister LaToya Scarborough, sister of T’Aundre

Scarborough, and granddaughter of Sister Doreatha Bullock, is now a 10th grade Honor Roll student with perfect attendance at I.C. Norcom High School in Portsmouth.

Teneyia participates in JV Softball and the International Club. Her goal is to get

straight A’s, graduate with honors, and pursue a nursing career and become a Pediatric

Nurse. Teneyia enjoys spending time with her friends, attending football games, going to the movies, and texting.

Through her work with the youth ministries of New First Baptist Church

(Taylorsville), may she encourage other youth to learn more about the Lord. We pray

for her success in all her future goals. To our “Youth in the Spotlight,” Miss Teneyia

Scarborough, Congratulations! May your light shine brightly for the Lord!

Evangelist Dorothy M. Clark

Evangelist Dorothy M. Clark (83 years of age) and with the blessings of the Lord will celebrate another birthday on December 19th has been a member of New First Baptist Church (Taylorsville) for over 68 years. Evangelist Clark was introduced to New First Baptist Church (Taylorsville) by her aunt, Sister Allenies Roberts and Sister Hattie Diggs. She was married

to the late Leroy Clark (who passed in 1981) for 33 years and together they raised eight children: five sons (two deceased) and three daughters. She is also the loving and devoted grandmother of 10, the great grandmother of 12, and the great great grandmother of four.

Evangelist Clark’s joy comes from helping those in need within her neighborhood and anyone who may come to her for help. She loves reading her Bible, gardening, and sewing. Her first job was that of a seamstress working for PW Laundry (sewing buttons and badges on 1500 shirts per day). She was later employed at Portsmouth General Hospital where she retired in 1992 after 28 years of service.

Evangelist Clark has always been active in church ministry. She serves with the Senior Missionary Ministry, Helping Hand Ministry, Noon Day Prayer Band, and attends the Ladies Sunday School Class #2. She has been one of the Sunday School Class #2 Leaders for 10 years. Evangelist Clark was also a member of the former Gospel Choir for 22 years. Her love for the Lord lead her to attend the Mount Carmel Mission School of Evangelist under the leadership of Bishop C. V. Russell, Jr. and graduated on May 28, 2005.

Evangelist Clark’s favorite scripture (in fact the entire Bible) Psalm 121, “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help . . .” and favorite Christian song, “Great Change in Me” and lives by the song, “You Can’t Make Me Doubt Him”.

What Evangelist Clark loves about New First Baptist Church (Taylorsville) – She enjoys her church and her church family. Evangelist Clark’s many years of service to the Lord through the ministries of New First Baptist Church (Taylorsville) is greatly appreciated and we continue to pray her strength in the Lord.

Congratulations to Evangelist Dorothy M. Clark, our “Senior in the Spotlight”.

We love you and we thank you for your many years of service to New First Baptist Church (Taylorsville).
