The College of Business, South Florida’s leading business school with unique expertise in international business, entrepreneurship and healthcare, is the largest of the university’s professional schools. Among the college’s more than 43,000 alumni are some of South Florida’s most successful business leaders and entrepreneurs. Approximately 6,000 students are enrolled in undergraduate business courses in its R. Kirk Landon Undergraduate School of Business. Each year more than 900 graduate students study in its Alvah H. Chapman Jr. Graduate School of Business. Another 1,000 participate annually in one or more of its executive education programs.

Real-world experienceSummer OptionsIn addition to our rigorous curriculum, the International MBA program includes options for final semester studies. Students may choose a business internship, an elective course or a study abroad.

Internship:Career Management Services has helped students obtain summer internships at companies such as the National Basketball Association, Microsoft, Google, B/E Aerospace, Caterpillar, Burger King, DHL Express, Telefonica, Johnson & Johnson, the City of Montreal, Citibank International, Nokia, Ryder and Ford Motor Company, among others.

Elective:You may choose an elective and apply it toward one of our joint degrees. Combinations of joint degrees include: MBA-Master of Science in Finance (MSF), MBA-Master of Science in Management Information Systems (MSMIS), MBA-Master of International Business (MIB), MBA-Master of Science in Human Resource Management (MSHRM), MBA-Master of Science in International Real Estate (MSIRE), MBA-Jurisprudence Doctorate (JD), and MBA-Master of Arts In Latin American and Caribbean Studies (MALACS).

Study Abroad:Study Abroad is tailored to your specific interests and goals and is planned in consultation with your advisor. Participating partner institutions are located in Argentina, Brazil, China, France, Guatemala, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Peru, Spain, Trinidad & Tobago, Uruguay and Venezuela.*

To complement a world-class graduate degree, our Career Management Services group helps you gain the knowledge and skills to be a competitive presence in today’s challenging job market.

Our workshops cover topics such as writing résumés, preparing for and handling the job interview, developing job search strategies, and effective networking. In addition, we provide self-assessment tools, individual advising, résumé referral, and on-campus interviews for internships and permanent positions.

Together, we’ll get results. The Admissions ProcessWe consider candidates for admission to the International MBA program on the basis of their individual applications. Since we strive to build a multi-faceted, close-knit learning community, we look at all applicants carefully before making our selections.

Basic requirements• A four-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university• Official GMAT or GRE scores• The TOEFL, a comprehensive test of English language proficiency skills, is required of all applicants who

did not obtain a degree from an English-speaking country.

In selecting participants for our International MBA program, we take a holistic approach. In addition to the requirements listed above, the Admissions Committee considers the following: potential for significant growth; ability to do graduate work in business; maturity and motivation; and ability and willingness to make a full-time, 12-month commitment.

Application ProcedureThere’s no need to wait until you have gathered all your materials together to apply. We suggest that you submit your online application as soon as possible and the rest of the materials as you complete them.

Each applicant must submit the following:• A graduate online application at http://gradschool.fiu.edu/admissions.shtml• Official transcript(s) from every university attended in an envelope sealed by the degree-granting institution(s)• Official proof of degree or copy of the original diploma if the degree is not posted on the official transcript• Official test scores sent directly by the testing service• Current résumé• Statement of purpose – A one-page essay describing your professional goals and reasons for pursuing a master’s degree at FIU• A non-refundable $30 application fee

International applicants seeking a student visa will be required to submit additional documentation.

FeesFor the most current fee information, be sure to contact the program office or visit imba.fiu.edu. A non-refundable residency fee is due upon acceptance into the program. The tuition balance is then paid on a semester basis. Those who leave the program receive no refunds.

If a participant expects to receive aid from other sources for all or part of the program fee but will not receive that aid in time to meet the advance payment deadline, he or she should arrange for financing through a bank or other financial institution to ensure that the program tuition is paid on time.

Financial Aid and ScholarshipsWe recommend that you begin thinking about your financial aid needs and options during the initial admissions process. Our International MBA program’s staff acts as a liaison between applicants and the FIU Financial Aid Office.

Scholarships are available for domestic and international students with outstanding credentials. We help applicants determine what scholarship or loan programs may be available and urge them to submit their application forms as early as possible.
