At the age of 16 Richard dropped out of school to move to London and pursue his dream in launching Student Magazine, which turned out to be a major success.

1970 - At the age of 19 Richard started a mail order record retailer called Virgin.

1971 - Opens his first Virgin records shop on Oxford street, in London.

1972 – Britain's first residential recording studio.

1973 – Virgin record label launches its first four releases.

1977 – Releases a punk anthem during the Silver Jubilee.

1978 – The company moves into film, books and Megastores.

After Richard’s journey started he never looked back, from the 1970’s till now the Virgin group has never stopped. Richard continues to grow the company any many different ways.
