SOS (Summer of Service) This year’s SOS had over 30 churches represented, 650 people, many of whom went out and served on one of 42 different work teams throughout Michiana. The work/ministry sites included South Bend, Elkhart, Mishawaka, Goshen all in Indiana and Union Michigan. Teams visited 26 nursing homes, conducted 8 neighborhood block parties, and 6 locations for car washes. There were projects at Hope Ministries, the Kroc Center, the YMCA, local food pantries, Faith Mission, Servants of the Streets, and 5 Stars’ new ranch. FCC was hugely represented with around 65 people serving through the event’s duration. Not only were people in the community impacted, but our congregation. Several months ago, FCC missionaries Gabo & Emily asked if we would like to host a student from Mexico City who has been involved in their student ministry, Vida Estudiantil. So, Andrés arrived for a month beginning the end of May. Four different families where able to spend time with him in their homes, not to mention the church as a whole and SOSers. His boldness in sharing the gospel in his former high school (he has graduated) led to the formation of 2 Bible studies (one at another high school) that included around 25 students each. Andrés even shared the gospel (in English) with a resident at a nursing home. Praying for FCC’s own Efrim & Tracy who work with 5 Star (SOS Recap Video) CASSIE - She worked on many of the behind the scene logistics that allowed things to run smoothly during the day LAURI & LEXI - Lexi was challenged to step out of her comfort zone and prayed with people waiting for a car wash ANDRÉS - He was very impressed with SOS and participated fully, although English is a second language for him FAITH COMMUNITY CHURCH JULY 2014 DR. SOS (Summer of Service)

This year’s SOS had over 30 churches represented, 650 people, many of whom went out and served on one of 42 different work teams throughout Michiana. The work/ministry sites included South Bend, Elkhart, Mishawaka, Goshen all in Indiana and Union Michigan.

Four different families where able to spend time with him in their homes, not to

mention the church as a whole and SOSers. His boldness in sharing the gospel in his former high school (he has graduated) led to the formation of 2 Bible studies (one at another high school) that included around 25 students each.
