New Due Dates and Extensions

• Aatrix submission deadline will be Monday February 26, 2018.

• Employee copies must be furnished by Friday March 2nd , 2018

• Paper submissions to the IRS must be received by February 28, 2018

• Electronic submission to the IRS must be submitted by Monday, April 2, 2018

30 Day Extensions Must Be Requested

• Request by letter indicating the reason for the delay must be received by March 2nd for extending the date to furnish employees.

• Request must be requested by individual EIN

• Request for extension of the IRS filing date can be done on Form 8809 submitted electronically or on paper.

• IRS extension must be received by April 2, 2018

• An optional additional 30 day extension of the IRS deadline can be requested and may be granted based on extenuating circumstances.

“Good Faith” Relief

IRS will allow a Good Faith ‘honest effort’ defense for reporting inaccuracies. The Good Faith does notapply to failure to file or provide copies to employees.

Furnishing 1095 Statements

•Must be furnished on paper by mail or hand delivered by March 2nd, 2018

•Can be furnished electronically if there is affirmative consent by the recipient to receive the statement electronically

•Consent to receive statements electronically should address the duration of the consent.
