RUGBY STARTS THIS WEEKEND

With the traditional trimming of the trees on the hill, we are now ready to play rugby at the Haven. Our Trojans are at home this weekend at the Haven against a very solid Warnervale outfit. Warnervale are traditionally tough and the Wildcats gave the Trojans one of our most physical challenges all year last time out, so don’t expect Warnervale to arrive without big expectations. The Trojans have been preparing well during the off season and pre season training. This weekend we will run out our experienced Grand Final Squad. So far, we have played Sevens Rugby, Representative football and our entire rugby squad has enjoyed solid pre season hit outs, to get us ready for our year.

CSTM CUP WIN

Last weekend the Trojans travelled to Singleton for the CSTM Cup. Singleton are a strong Hunter Club so it is always quality rugby played in the right spirit. Last year, our Clubs drew with Singleton retaining the CSTM Cup after winning the boat race. However, this year Terrigal have won both grades with a victory in firsts 40-36.

This means we will hold the cup until we play Singleton again next year. From all reports the bus trip and the entire match was a great Trojan day.

WORKING BEE SUCCESS

Thank you to all our members who participated in the clean up of the Clubhouse last weekend. There were a number of people who got involved from the junior players to some local residents who just came down to help our Club out on the day. We were able to trim the gardens, cut back trees, check our banners, clean the store room and take two major loads of rubbish to the tip. It was a great effort from everyone involved. Thanks again for your support.

JUMPERS NOT READY

It seems even the best planning sometimes falls short. This year we had our jumper order placed earlier than ever for our Trojans First Grade strip and we have just been advised our new jumpers arrive on Monday. This means we will be playing in our reserve strip this weekend with our new jumpers set to arrive in the near future.

WEATHER ALERT

Thursday's torrential rain and wind witnessed two emergency landings on the Haven Oval at the same time from two helicopters travelling along our coastline. The Haven saw flood conditions across our oval, however, the Haven proved to be a lifesaver on this occasion.
