Congratulations to all the junior bellbirds that played the 2010‐2011 season. Again it was a very successful season both on and off the field. We had 11 comp teams, super 8's and kanga cricketers, making us one of the strongest clubs in the association. Off the field we are blessed with a fantastic executive and support group, doing all the behind the scenes work that makes for a smooth running and successful season. A very special thank you must go to Jennie Agustin who has been the nucleus that makes it all possible and run smoothly. Jennie has decided to ‘hang up the pen' as club junior secretary and she will be greatly missed. I cannot thank her enough for the years of tireless work she has contributed. Other committee members are Barry Shanley, Len Bombas, Alain Bianchini, Jo O'Neill, Liz O'Brien, Ken Carr, Lindy Peters, Paul O'Neill and Evan Schram. Many thanks to you all for your hard work. This season has seen the construction of 3 nets at Paul Oval. This is a wonderful asset to the club and will be enjoyed by many young cricketers for a long time to come. A special thanks to all who made donations to help finance the project. Barry Shanley who organised all the grant applications and also Kent Carr, Project manager these two have made it all possible. Congratulations to you both. The club also extends its appreciation and gratitude to those people who have managed and coached teams this season. It is always great to see senior players put their hand up to coach junior teams. This is a wonderful part of the "cricket family" that makes our club so strong and united. Congratulations all coaches on a job well done. We had many players represent the Central Coast and some went on to bigger and better things. Kieren Elley was a stand out in representing NSW U15s and then being selected for the Australian U16 team, 'how good is that'. Damien Wright continues to play cricket for Victoria, whilst another club ex‐junior debuted for the NSW second XI, congratulations to Reece Bombas. We hope this is the start of something big for you. To all our U16's who are going on to play grade next year we wish you all the best and hope you continue to be a Bellbird for many years to come. Thank you to Ken Pearson and the staff of the Breakers Club for their continued support, it is very much appreciated. 14B Maroon Grand Final Report

The Terrigal Matcham ‘Maroons’ played the Terrigal Matcham ‘Golds’ at Col Gooley Oval, Umina on Saturday 12th March 2011. The ‘Golds’ won the toss and sent the ‘Maroons’ in to bat. Antony Greaves and Simon Kelly opened the batting. ‘Greavesey was bowled in the second over by an excellent swinging delivery by Matt Gardiner. Simon Kelly was joined by captain, Peter Schmidt. The pair put on a magnificent partnership of 60 runs before Simon was caught in the 12 over for, better than run‐a‐ball, 43 runs. This included 5 powerful fours. Peter was joined by Liam Caulfield who smashed a lightning four through the covers. Unfortunately both batsmen departed without reaching double figures and the Maroons found themselves at 4 for79 in the 17th over. This strong start to the innings required the middle order to consolidate and build on the good start. Austin Baric and Liam Taylor came to the crease and did just that. A solid, responsible inning from both batsmen built a partnership of 56 runs in 18 overs, before Austin was caught for 28. Tayles continued to bat superbly with the lower order. Matthew Langhein and Emma Dobbie fell cheaply with Josh Hudson entertaining with a quick‐fire 22. Three fours in this innings brought out the air‐guitar. Tayles raised his bat to a cheering team and spectators when he reached his 50 in the 47th over. Although caught on 53, this innings had taken the score to 197 runs and placed the team in a strong position in the match. Aaron Kendrigan and Steph Kelly looked like they might bat out the 55 overs until Aaron was caught in the 53rd over with the total on 208. After lunch a confident ‘Maroons’ team took the field with Simon keeping wicket. Peter set an attacking field and the opening bowlers, Bayden Jones and Matthew Langhein bowled superbly conceding only 9 runs in the first 6 overs. This pressure had to deliver a breakthrough, and it did. In the 7th over Bayden had Toby Hughes caught by Steph in the covers. The team celebrated and the pressure was clearly starting to tell on the ‘Golds’. A double bowling change brought immediate results with Josh bowling Justin Hunt with his first ball and Steph claiming two cheap wickets. The ‘Golds’ were in trouble at 4 for 26 in the 17th over. A partnership of 46 between Jack O’Malley and Mitch Lyons gave the ‘Golds’ some hope. Man‐of‐the‐match, Liam Taylor, then came on and bowled Lyons and Aaron Cahill in quick succession to add bowling figures of 2 for 6 to his impressive batting performance. At 6 for 72 in the 29th over, the ‘Maroons’ were beginning to sense victory. The bowling, wicket keeping and fielding remained of a very high standard, conceding only 14 extras in the match. When Jack O’Malley was caught in the slips by Josh off Liam Caufields bowling, for a determined 48, a win appeared certain. Peter, Greavsey and Bayden removed the tail‐enders and the ‘Golds’ were all out for 109 in the 42nd over. The ‘Maroon’s’ celebrated a comprehensive victory which was an excellent team effort. Well done!!!

Start of season looked like the U10 Terrigal Gold Team was without a coach. I then negotiated with work and then had the privilege of being coach of a fantastic cricket team, which at times felt that they coached me as they taught me a lot. With most of the team meeting at the 1st week of training we had 5 boys who played in the U10 last season, and the other 7 players coming from the super 8’s, In2 Cricket & another team, the U10 Terrigal Gold Team was made. Throughout the season, the boy’s personalities came through on and off the field and their love for cricket showed. Batting was extremely good, consistent throughout the season, as was their bowling that made them a force plus with great fielding to match. They were quite competitive from the start and that didn’t end as they became minor premiers without losing a game along the way. Each player played a part and did an awesome job. I would like to say a BIG THANKYOU to my helpers, Mark for being my sidekick with umpiring + Evan for helping out, scorers Michele, Adam, Craig, Noman and to Jo for putting the stats in each week. To the parents, grandparents, friends thanks for supporting the team and to the players you were a pleasure to coach. Simply the best team in the Under 10’s 2010/2011 Competition to take out Minor Premiers. JOHN DAY‐U10 TERRIGAL GOLD COACH LOCHIE ALLISON – With a last name of Allison in the Junior Terrigal Cricket Club, Lochie the youngest of the family was out to prove himself, and that he certainly did. Ended the cricket season with the batting award in the team plus got the District award for Batting Aggregate/Average Trophy Winner in the U10’s competition. Congratulations Lochie! Also our main wicket keeper, who did a fantastic job with stumpings, great catches, plus with his bowling snagged some wickets on the way. Lochie has the making of a fine cricket captain with his knowledge of the game and his leadership on the field. JACK DAY‐ Always going to be hard coaching your son!!! Well, he was focused on cricket, determined and huge improvement from last season with powerful batting‐ hitting and great bowling. Had a few games wicket keeping‐ an all‐rounder. Finished the cricket season with the most wickets to take out the bowling award. Highlight for Jack this summer was getting a hat trick! AARON DUDMAN‐Mr Consistent this summer, has only got out once this season in the 11th game ( prior to semi‐finals), must have been angry with himself , as that game he bowled unbelievable to take 5 wickets. What a way to punish the opposing team. Great fast bowling, big hits with the bat and great fielding as well. ELLIOT FOY‐ Improved in batting, especially in bowling. After the Christmas break it was like a different kid come to play and a new bowler appeared, those no balls came less and wickets started coming very fast. Enjoyed the game, and loved being part of the team. JACK FULLERTON‐ Seemed to be a bit unlucky with the bat early on, but then the runs started coming and then there was no stopping him. Wow that 42no against Warnervale. What a wonderful display! Great batting, reliable tight bowler, fielding exceptional with those classic catches and run outs with

great wicket keeping too match. Jack has a mature influence on the team, setting a fine example of respect, skills and sportsmanship. JACK HEUSTON‐ Where did this kid come from‐ has the total package, great accurate fast bowling‐ great hitter with the bat, and fielding was unbelievable with catches and direct run outs from all over the field. Jack is a great thinker, has excellent understanding of the game, which goes a long way in cricket. DANIEL PHILLIPS‐ Batted well, though unlucky at times, bowling improved from last season and fielding always alert, waiting for the ball when it came his way. Daniel, always polite plays the game in the right spirit and gets out there and does the job. DARCY SCHRAM‐ Darcy has improved in every aspect of the game since last season. Batted well, fielding was reliable but it was his bowling that stood out as his stats from last season to this season shows. As a coach is it is fantastic to see and Darcy utterly deserves the coaching award. He listens to advice, is eager to learn and always respectful. BAILEY SCHWEIGER‐ Right from the start consistent reliable with bowling, didn’t matter what order you bowled him in he did a fantastic job. Batting was solid down the order and took some awesome catches and run outs in the field. A quiet achiever who was a great team player. JAMAL SHOAIB‐ Youngest player of the team, though already has the making of a fine cricketer. Great accurate opener bowler, good eye with the bat and the safest hands for catches. Took out the fielding award with most catches. Well done Jamal! OSKAR THOMSON‐ Bowling consistent throughout the season, though unlucky not to get a wicket until after the Christmas break. Then the wickets came very quickly. Batted well as season progressed and always keen, eager in the field and not much got by him. Always enthusiastic about training to game day, and very popular with his team mates with his cheerful personality. ETHAN WILLIAMS ‐ Batting, bowling improved throughout the season as did fielding where he was always on the ball. Always eager, raring to go and usually first at training with a smile to match. Valuable team player who has learned a lot about the game of cricket.

This season was a success on many levels. Overall, the team finished just out of contention for the semi‐finals as some losses in key games proved to be costly on the points table. Nevertheless, some important lessons about playing this game were learned along the way. The importance of tight bowling, taking all your catches and learning how to chase a target were highlighted in these key games. Having experienced these narrow defeats and reflecting on their performances, the boys will be better placed when presented with these challenges next year.

From a coaching point of view, I really appreciated the enthusiasm and commitment that all boys displayed throughout the season. Each player was keen to develop his skills and it was pleasing to see the support and encouragement that they gave each other. I enjoyed their sense of fun and good humour at our training sessions. It was fulfilling to see the boys improving their basic technique and becoming more confident with the finer parts of the game such as setting fielding positions, running between the wickets, walking in with the bowler and backing up in the field.

I would like to thank Paul Peters for his management of the team. His efficiency behind the scenes was appreciated as was his cheerful and wise advice throughout the season.

The parents were a great support throughout the season and deserve thanks for the time, patience and energy they devoted to their boys. I look forward to maintaining the friendships made this year and will follow the boys’ progress in the seasons ahead with interest.

James Denton Coach

Lachlan Bryer Lachlan is a cricketer who grew in confidence as the season progressed. He developed a more consistent bowling action and displayed more skill and aggression with the bat. He always gave his best at training and could often be found watching the game from the nearest tall tree.

Kai Denton Kai is a capable all‐rounder with a keen sense for the game. He bowls with speed and accuracy and hit the stumps on many occasions. He is a deserved winner of the bowling award for the team. As a batsman, Kai displays potential and a good technique. He is a talented and reliable wicket keeper and has a good future in the game.

Ben Dignam Ben is a cricketer with a big heart. He throws himself into his game and is a keen competitor. Ben became a consistent scorer with the bat over the season and displayed all the skills of a talented wicket keeper. Ben is a great team player.

Samuel Dobb Sam is a talented all‐rounder who applied thought to his batting and bowling. He possesses an effective spinning slow ball that was a menace for many batsmen. Sam is an excellent fielder and he shows great potential as a wicket keeper. Sam is a great team player.

Hayden Harris Hayden was one of the most accurate bowlers in the team. He bowls with pace, good line and length and can swing the ball consistently. On his day Hayden could hit the ball well and score freely. Hayden enjoys all aspects of the game and always kept a keen eye on the statistics.

Xavier King Xavier reached a milestone late in the season when he corrected the skip in his bowling action – well done! Xavier was responsible for many run outs with numerous direct hits from his favourite back stop position. He tried hard with the bat and demonstrated that he has all the shots, but needs to work on his timing. His running commentary on our game kept us all amused.

Zac Martin Zac’s improvement throughout the season was excellent. He was always keen to listen to advice and tried hard to develop his technique. He became a reliable and effective bowler and a determined batsman. Zac was an excellent team player who set high standards in behaviour and sportsmanship.

Zachary Peters Zach is a talented all‐rounder who displays great passion for the game. He is a powerful batsman who scores his runs effortlessly. Zach retired on most occasions and was a deserved winner of the batting award for the season. He could land his leg spinners consistently and deceived many batsmen with spin and good flight. Zach is a player with a great future in the game.

Fletcher Pilon Fletcher is a true all‐rounder who made regular contributions to our games. He bowls with pace and displayed consistent line and length. On his day he is capable of dominating a bowling attack with aggressive shots and he took some great catches in the outfield. Fletcher is a player with considerable potential.

Lachlan Smith Lachlan was our Mr Enthusiastic! He wanted to bowl, bat and field all the time and as a result he was often in the action of the game. He is a watchful batsman and was responsible for some of the classic catches taken in the outfield this season. Lachlan has potential to burn and with hard work he will be a player to watch in the future.

Timothy Scherer Tim is a cricketer who is keen to improve all aspects of his game. He works hard at training and is a great team player. The highlight of his season came in the second last game where he batted with confidence and skill to finally reach his goal and retired. The crowd enjoyed his jubilant celebration. Congratulations on a great season.

Joshua Toohey Josh is a player who approaches his cricket in a thoughtful manner. He could strike a ball with great timing and power. Josh also developed the finer points of batting as the season progressed and developed this ability to find gaps and turn the strike over with singles. Josh worked hard to develop his bowling action and he was a reliable person in the field.

The 11 A's have achieved as a team this season. We had some highs and lows throughout the competition winning well and losing a couple of tight matches. We had to win our last round match against an undefeated team and were able to do so only from the result of great teamwork and sportsmanship. Unfortunately we lost our semi‐final, but individually and as a team they have all improved and ready to compete for next year’s title. I would like to make mention and thank the parents for getting the boys to training and to the games. Special thanks to Jackie Schram for being manager, we were extremely organised and up to date all season. Thanks to Wayne Chislett for helping me umpire week to week it was a great help. To all who scored throughout the year espically Greg Hollins and Michele Allison. Last but not least the coffee runners, Michelle Fullerton and the Venables, it was greatly appreciated, thank you. KOBE ALLISON Started the year as a pace bowler, who could bat ok, Kobe ended up nearly winning the association batting award! His technique has improved greatly. CHAZ SCHRAM Mr Reliable, good solid all round cricketer. Listens to what is required for the team and attempts to his best ability to do so. Great team player. ISAAC CHISLETT Has had a solid season, with his bowling being very accurate and his batting greatly improved. Isaac has started to train hard and is starting to see the results. COOPER FULLERTON Has had a good season overall and has learnt alot about his game. Cooper's batting has been very unlucky.... with nearly every week being caught by the 'catch of the day'. Bowling and fielding has been very consistent. ISACC READ Very steady start to the season with bat and ball, Isaac had a breakthrough innings late in the season to help us get into the semis. Isaac was just starting to realise his potential as a cricketer, well done. LAIN CARR Steady year, with some solid innings with the bat. Has improved his ability as a fielder and a consistent bowler. CHARLIE VENABLES A great team player who does his best with bat or ball. Always supports his team mates, Charlie's batting and bowling have become more consistent and he has worked really hard in the field all with a smile, well done

Chopper! DARCY HOLLINS New to the game and willing to learn and listen. By the end of the season Darcy got his top score and has co‐won our bowling award through his persistence. Great effort

JAXON STRATTON Very consistent year, solid pace bowler who ended up opening the batting, Jaxon always has a smile on his face and is very supportive to his team mates. Pulled off some great run‐outs late in the season. DONAVAN WELLS Donavan never stops trying, in his first season of cricket he has battled to find consistancy, this did'nt stop him trying to learn, he was keen to train with his Dad and club training 2‐3 time a week. Late in the season he took his first catch! and his bowling has improved greatly. Well done. HARRY MEYN Harry has had a very consistent year, great batting technique and a hard working fielder. His spin bowling has been great to watch, Harry consistently lands them, which is very hard at his age, bigger things to come.... MATTHEW BRYER Matt has had a terrific year especially adapting to be our wicket keeper. Started out a little slow, but has improved his batting, bowling and also his fielding. In our semi‐final after being wicket keeper for half an innings, Matt took 4 catches in the field for the match! Great effort Matt.

12 B Maroons report by Kaye Kelly‐proud Manager! What a difference a year has made to this team. A great performance by the boys this year finishing 2nd on the ladder and making the grand final is a well‐deserved reward. We have been fortunate to have the coaching expertise of the legendary Geoff ‘Patto’ Patterson this year. His words of wisdom have inspired the boys and made a difference to them on and off the field‐Thanks Patto! We are very fortunate to have a team of really great boys who are given wonderful guidance by some great parents. Early, cold Saturday mornings are made so much nicer by the group of mums and dads that we have and we all enjoy the time that we spend‐thanks everyone! Massive thanks to our scorers Janelle and Janine and to Lucy who has done a sensational job inputting the scores each week and supporting me‐she is a legend. Toby BOWDITCH Toby plays the game with wonderful spirit and he is very talented in all areas. He fully deserves the batting award for his consistent performance and run rate. His bowling performance is excellent and he has a great sense of where to be in his fielding. Toby exerts a steadying influence on the team and is always keen to throw a few balls to help others practice. It’s a pleasure to have him around. Zac EMPSON Zac’s enthusiasm is infectious; he plays his heart out and has produced an awesome all round performance and made a really valuable contribution to the team. Zac is talented in all areas and he makes a great wicket keeper which he loves to do. His performance under pressure is always his best and on Semi‐finals day he stepped up with some really crucial fielding. Great work Zac! Jack GAHAN Who can forget Jack’s batting performance early in the season achieving his 50 not out! Jack has a wonderful grasp of the rules and the sense of cricket and can always be relied upon to play a solid game. He has made a great vice‐captain towards the end of the season and delivered his best batting in the Semis by staying in for more than 20 overs‐a great all round performance Jack! Nixon JOWETT Nixon’s performance stats are not reflective of the way he plays the game which is with passion and drive. Clearly a batsman but Nixon fields with great intuition and maturity and he is a fine sportsman and a pleasure to have on our team. Nixon juggles many sporting commitments but he gives his cricket game 110% and always delivers a great performance. Tom KELLY Tom has delivered some awesome bowling again this season and taken a few very handy catches. Batsmen don’t get many runs off Tom and he has delivered some very handy performances with the ball and the bat. Tom is a very level player who never gets upset when out but learns from his errors and goes back out and gives 110%. Well done mate! Ollie PATTERSON Words cannot describe Ollie who adds colour and character to our team like no‐one else! Ollie made a great team captain towards the end of the season and provided great leadership. His finest hour has to be the last wicket in the semis‐a moment none of us will ever forget! Ollie we are so proud of you for your fielding award and for your overall performance.

Josh PHILLIPS Another fantastic bowling season for Josh, the secret weapon of our team! The opposition doesn’t know what’s hit them when Josh bowls and he has taken some very crucial wickets at just the right time. Josh missed the semi‐finals and we missed his contribution. Well done Josh your bowling award is well deserved and hopefully it will make you smile! Drew RIDGE Drew is the true gentleman of our team and he plays the game in the best spirit and with great respect. Drew sets his own standards very high and has delivered a good all round performance this season especially with the bat. Drew is calm under pressure and pays attention to his coach ‐a pleasure to have on our team and a very respectful young man. Matt ROPER The youngest member of our team who holds his own and has delivered a good all round performance. His batting and bowling have both improved during the season and his performance in the semis was fantastic. Matt goes about his game quietly and has gained self confidence in his ability. Watch out for him next season! Brad STAINES Brad always delivers a solid performance in all areas of his game. He is always calm under pressure and steps up when needed. He is never fazed by the opposition and just gets out there and gives of his best. Brad has talent in all areas and is always keen to get out there each week. Great work Brad! Hunter THOMSON Hunter overcame illness early on in the season and bounced back with a brilliant batting performance giving us some very crucial runs throughout the season. Hunter knows a lot about the game and keeps a watching eye on the other teams’ stats so he always knows what we are up against. Semi‐finals brought out the best in Hunter in his bowling and wicket keeping‐great job! Sam WALES Another great all round season for Sam, brilliant batting, bedazzling bowling and fantastic fielding! Sam is just the ultimate all‐rounder and always has a smile on his face. His fielding in the semis was amazing and he made a massive contribution to our success with some great throw‐ins. There is nothing more to say about Sam other than Well Done!

A remarkable season for a team that consisted of season campaigners, brand new players and under‐age players. Terrigal Gold finished the season as Minor and Major Premiers – and undefeated. From our opening game against Wyong to our semi‐final win against Kincumber, our season was built on friendship, fair play and team‐work. Every player contributed to our success, and the thing that stuck with me most was their ability to win from any position because they believed in each other, encouraged each other, and stuck together. This was never more evident in our semi‐final or our Round 7 games against Kincumber. There were some amazing innings, fantastic bowling and mind‐blowing fielding. Being around the boys was infectious; the cheeky smile when Harry took a wicket, the high fives when Takeru dived on the boundary, and wild applause when Lachlan cleared the fence. Most importantly was the unbreakable spirit of the team, their attitude towards their peers, and their continued encouragement even when things didn’t go our way. Thankyou to all the parents for being supportive, and helping out with scoring and training throughout the year. Dan and I enjoyed every minute with the boys and are very proud of their achievements. Congratulations on a memorable, undefeated, premiership season – and yes Lachlan you finally get that “Baggy Cap”! Drew Ashton: Coming back for his second year Drew continued to improve every week. A quiet achiever who took on the coveted number 3 spot – batting us out of trouble in the semi‐final. Full of spirit, master of the sweep and a lethal medium pacer as Wyong found out in Round 2! Ethan Caruana: One of the new brigade who shined every week. Took an amazing 8 wickets during the regular season and developed into a very talented and spirited wicket‐keeper. With the semi‐final game in the balance, took the gloves off and bowled two devastating overs to swing the game in our favour and finished with 2‐2. Ethan was awarded “fieldsman of the year”. Peter Dignam: One of our high achievers this year. New to the squad and has performed brilliantly in every aspect of the game. Scored over 150 runs, and is joint winner of the 2011 bowling award with 9 wickets. An in‐depth knowledge of the game, and a leader among his peers. Harrison Doyle: Part of the new and young brigade, Harrison had a stellar season built around his magnificent bowling, and his positive attitude. The quiet achiever who tore batting orders apart with his variety of bowling. Hard to hit, and an infectious smile. William Gornall: Once of most experienced, but still one our youngest. Our opening bowler who for the second year in row has won the bowling award. A fantastic fielder who took three catches in our semi‐final, and an underrated batter who has twice featured in match winning partnerships. Takeru Ishida: What a fielder! Takeru continued to build in his second season and is one of our lethal “spin twins”. One of the best fielders you will ever see. Produced a mesmerising spell of 2–0, and a quick fire 25 to destroy Warnervale in round 6. Cooper McCallum: What a year! First year of cricket – started with 20no, and became a lethal leg spinner. Took key wickets when under the pump, and befuddled many a batsmen. An outstanding fielder, and gentleman to his peers. A big hitting lower order batsman who will get even better next year.

Jordan McSweeney: A big improver in 2011 and probably our most exciting batsman. Scored an unbeaten half century to steal the game from Gosford in Round 8, and took a bag of wickets throughout the year. A great asset to the team as he brings a calm vibe, and can turn a game with a great piece of fielding, bowling or batting. Andrew Oak: One of our seasoned performers and leader who continues to perform with bat and ball. An amazing slip fieldsman, elegant batsman and devastating bowler. Scored a run a ball 50 in round 4, and was part of a game saving semi‐final partnership. Lachlan O’Dowd: Our unassuming leader who had a season that can only be described as “remarkable”. A boy with an amazing understanding of the game won not only the club batting award, but the Central Coast Association batting award with two unbeaten half centuries and well over 200 runs. A superb bowler and fielder, no doubt destined for representative honours. Aiden Reid: The youngest member of our squad, and has such respect for the game and his peers. Aiden continues to learn and develop his craft and has taken key wickets throughout the season – including in his first ever over! Jett Schram: After an injury plagued previous season, Jett really stepped up and has improved with every game. Started the season with a fantastic 35, and finished the season in the same fashion. A solid middle order batsmen and outstanding fieldsman whom featured in two century partnerships, and a mature game saving partnership in the semi‐final.

The mighty 13As here they are… We just missed the semi‐finals this year, but there is a lot of talent waiting to be unleashed… Kaleb Campling‐Sherwood ‐ If he sticks to cricket he could be the next Glen McGrath.Once on target he was difficult to handle. Kaleb showed great enthusiasm & a desire to learn this great game.A real team player. Branden Brodell‐ Talented LH bat & a good spinner he took some pearlers in the field with his lightening reflexes.Bowlers will hate him in 2012. Jack Hide‐ Freddie Flintoff the 2nd, he has a natural outswinger & destroyed both Wyong & The Entrance.Jack has a classical action and with his new bat will score plenty next year. Riley Carr‐A punishing RH bat who can tear any attack apart.He is an under‐rated medium pacer & I believe he will become a good allrounder.The next Jacque Kallis. Jordan Farncomb‐Improved concentration & ability to occupy the cease will stand him in good stead. Right arm legspinner who could bamboozle anyone on his day‐even Mike Hussey. Jayden Moody‐ Always enthusiastic & aggressive with the bat & on the field.He has a late inswinger that reminds one of Dougy Bollinger. Johny Dobb‐When in rhythm his pace is frightening. He took charge as our Skipper & will be a better player for the experience. An aggressive batsman with lots of potential. Andrew Vickery‐Our enthusiastic keeper whose technique improved & has great powers of concentration. A joy to coach & a determined batsmen with a late cut just like Victor Trumper. Luke Hands‐ Fingers entertained the crowd with his dry sense of humour. A beautiful left arm action & can swing it both ways which gave all the rep players trouble. Jack Meyn‐a late arrival but showed his determination with the bat V Kincumber. A magnificent bowling action tied down Gosford with his outeys. Luke Mcguiness‐He developed a good straight batting technique but may have a future in 20‐20 after smashing Doylo. Bowling improved but what an arm from the outfield The highlight of the year was the clinical way we disposed of Wyong & polished off the runs, excellent fielding & batting. Jack Hide tore through a bunch of rep players & was unplayable. To all you boys you have great potential enjoy the off season & have fun. The season in review from an extremely proud and satisfied coach. To start with Barry Shanley as manager and match recorder thank you for a job well done also your knowledge of the boys strengths and weaknesses helped me enormously towards this team going through the season undefeated, beating the 2 grand finalists along the way unfortunately going down in the semi‐final but that's cricket!! To the O’Neill’s thanks Paul for umpiring and Jo for being one part of the dynamic scoring duo with Liz Brien who I thank very much also. Without naming names thanks to the parents who did the coffee runs. The thing I will take with me after this season is the mateship and support the 11 players in this team showed towards each other and the fundamental willingness to succeed as one unit working towards a common goal. Our team consisted of one DCA and one IDCA rep player and in comparison to other teams, we showed that a champion team can beat a team of champions any day. It was my intention in this report not to ramble on about individual statistics as anyone who witnessed our performances throughout the season will know that all players performed above par to achieve their results. In conclusion thank you to all involved for an enjoyable season and see you all again next season. Trevor Allison

Well the year started a little shaky with only 10 players and one of them had a broken thumb! We managed to recruit another 2 players giving us a 12th man and never looked back. It was a time of 1sts…….both coaches had never coached before, 2 players had never played before, 1 hadn’t played since Kanga and 1 had last year off. But that did not deter us at all, we won our first game under controversial circumstances and the points were rightly awarded to us! Our 2nd game saw us go down to Terrigal Gold (the local derby), it was a competitive and good spirited game. That loss ended up being our one and only and every game we played after that we just got better and better. With only 5 teams in the comp we played everyone twice and had 2 byes and 1 washout in the 3rd round. We had a mixed bag of talent in our players and all positions were shared evenly, this was carried through to the Grand Final where all our bowlers bowled 3 overs each. We had the opportunity during the season to participate in the Weetbix T20. This was played mid‐week for 5 weeks and mostly consisted of A teams. Although we lost every game never once did anyone not enjoy themselves or feel out of their league. It was a great experience to play against A players and also the game as a T20. From these games our confidence just grew!!! Our team consists of; Austin Baric: Austin had a year off cricket last year but came back and batted as if he had never left. He maintained that consistency throughout the year no matter what number he batted at. He was a very good swing bowler but hesitant at times to bowl. He ended up with a bag full of wickets ( 8 ) being our 2nd leading wicket taker. Liam Caufield: Liam is one of our big hitters scoring his runs very quickly with many boundaries. Liam hit our only 6 for the year and was a handy bowler who chipped in with a few crucial wickets. During the first ½ of the season Liam helped with keeping due to Simon’s injury. Emma Dobbie: This was Emma’s 1st year of cricker and unfortunately had a set back with her broken thumb which saw her miss a lot of games during the 1st ½ of the season. Once she was back to full time training she picked up her bowling skills very quickly and her batting and fielding soon followed. In her 1st game she picked up 3 wickets! If Emma continues to play cricket (and I think she should) she will develop her skills further. I believe Emma also picked up a few admirers from the opposing teams throughout the year! Anthony Greaves: “Greavsey” was a very good talker both on and off the field. He was a very solid batter who opened the batting a few times for us with a very sound technique. Anthony was no stranger to the cut shot and could cut them off middle stump if he wished. Greavesy was a handy off spin bowler and was always good for a wicket. Josh Hudson: “Hudos” was also a new face to cricket this season and very quickly got into the swing of things. Hudos was a very enthusiastic team player both at training and the game. He was a very good listener who took it all in and then practiced over and over again at home. This was evident in only his 2nd game when he ended up on a hat trick. During the 2nd ½ of the season Josh developed a very good batting technique and everytime he hit a 4 he played his trademark “air guitar bat”. Bayden Jones: Bayden was a very good bowler who could land the ball on a plate most times. He was a very skilful player who had a very safe pair of hands under the high ball. Bayden also scored a big score during a crucial part of the innings against The Entrance. Bayden was always 1st to training showing what enthusiasm he has for the game. Keep it up Bayden!

Aaron Kendrigan: Aaron was a late inclusion to the team but was soon to show us that he was a quality swing bowler. He showed us his talent with the demolition of Doylo where he picked up 5/4! Aaron also scored a few quality runs for the team. “I never saw the back of the bat used though Aaron?” Aaron was also one of our replacement keepers. Simon Kelly: Simon was another player to only play ½ a season which was unfortunate. But in his comeback game he showed us what we had missed with a blazing 72 not out in 12 overs! Simon also had a bit to say on the field (which is always good). Simon was our 1st choice keeper and loved to appeal for what seemed like every 2nd ball he caught. Simon was also an underrated bowler who could come into the attack and grab a wicket. Steph Kelly: Steph was a quality cricketer who missed a few training sessions throughout the year which didn’t hamper her game one bit. It was no surprise to us that she was selected for the girls DCA rep team and Sydney North School Cricket team. Her big out swing bowling troubled many opponents throughout the year. Her batting was very solid and a few times was asked if she wanted to bat in the top 3 or 4 but always replied 5 or 6? Hope to see you back next year. Matthew Langhein: “Langers” was a very athletic fielder who saved many 4’s with his big slides and took a few great catches! Matt was a very quick bowler and during the back end of the season was bowling in such good areas the batsmen just couldn’t hit them. Mat was also a very good batman who could punish bad bowling every time but at times lost concentration. This was Matt’s 1st year since Kanga cricket which was extremely impressive in itself. Peter Schmidt: Peter was our captain for the year and led the team well with very good field settings and bowling choices. Peter probably didn’t start the season off as well as he would have liked with a few low scores. That soon turned around with some good scores and finished the year off well. He is a very gifted leg spin bowler and I encourage him to continue practicing that and not just focus on his batting. Liam Taylor: Last but not least “Tayles” was our highest run scorer but a fair way and scored 3 ½ centuries in very vital innings throughout the year. Liam had a very good technique and this will only develop further as he gets older. Liam was also our only left handed bowler which with his pace and different angle had the opposition batsmen in trouble on many occasions. None of this our, Grand Final win included would be possible without all the support and encouragement from all the parents. Thank you so much for bringing them to training and to the games each week. We also threw in another day for you to ferry them around, the T20! Special mention must go to Colin our Manager and Kylie who scored most games. The rest of the duties were shared around equally and we thank you as at times it was very difficult for you as we had to leave each game before finishing as we had our own game to get to. There was no more evident a game than our Grand Final where we had to leave at 10:00am for our own Semi (which we lost by the way). Thanks to all the parents who organised the team and encouraged them onto a great victory. This year was a great year for us, our 1st at coaching and we certainly enjoyed it very much. Everyone was polite, keen and great fun to be around, we certainly had a fantastic team! Lets hope you all enjoyed yourselves as much as we did. We certainly hope that ALL of you come back next year and continue from where we have left off. Harry and Nathan

I couldn’t be happier with the way that the young men of the U14B Gold team went about their cricket this past season. All of the guys trained well, performed on the field, but mostly importantly, they played their cricket in the right spirit of the game and had some great fun. They did a great job in winning the Minor Premiership, and what was most pleasing about their season was the fact that all of them played significant roles in one game or another. Making the Grand Final was another great achievement made by these young blokes, but unfortunately it just wasn’t our day. Congratulations to the Terrigal Matcham U14B Maroon team who were just too good for us on the day. To my team, there’s always next year, and as I said after our Grand Final loss, as soon as you win one, the losses become a distant memory, so I hope to see all the guys back next season for another crack at that elusive premiership. I can’t say thank you enough for the help I received from our fantastic manager Sonya Gardiner. Sonya was invaluable this season, scoring on game day, entering MyCricket results, organising training times and keeping the parents up to date on what was happening. I’d also like to thank Barry Hunt for his assistance in umpiring on game day when the other coaches and myself weren’t available and also taking care of the team’s kit during the week. I’d also like to thank Barry and Craig Gardiner for their assistance at training. I really enjoyed coaching this group of young men, they showed great maturity throughout the year and I look forward to seeing them develop into Senior Bellbirds in future years. Justin Hunt (c): Justin led the team well this year. He has a good cricketing brain and although he may not have scored as many runs as he would have liked to, I think he did a good job coming in at first drop with the bat. Aaron Cahill: Aaron is a genuine all round cricketer. Depending on the makeup and balance of the team, he can be used as a batter, bowler or wicket keeper. This year he did a great job for us with the ball taking several wickets, and also showed his skills in the field, taking several catches and also a few stumpings at keeper. Jack Vane Tempest: This was Jack’s first year playing cricket, which is hard enough, but he was also playing in an older age group. Jack’s batting and bowling improved throughout the season, and this was no surprise as he was one of our most dedicated team members at training. Jack played a great role for the team with the bat coming in at number four, and I hope to see him back next season. Daniel Guider: Another great all round cricketer and someone that you can really build a team around. Dan’s attitude to cricket is fantastic, and he showed great courage to play with an injured ankle in our Grand Final. Dan did a great job with the ball this year, and is also a more than capable batsman when he has time in the middle. Lachlan Vane Tempest: Unfortunately we didn’t get as many games out of Lachy this season as we would have liked to due to a broken arm. In the games that he did play in, Lachy terrorised teams with his fast pace bowling and had he played the full season, I’m sure he would have taken bagfuls of wickets. He also showed his prowess with the bat in our Grand Final, hitting a massive six; I was surprised that they found the ball after that shot! Toby Hughes: I’m not too sure exactly where to start with Toby. He is just one of those blokes that make coaching a real pleasure. Toby did a fantastic job opening the batting for us this year, and showed great self‐control in doing so. You could tell that at times all Toby wanted to do was hit the first ball for six, but he respected the good balls, and picked off the bad ones when they came along. Great season mate.

Luke Curtis: Luke was a late, and more so, welcomed addition to our team this year. He showed great promise with the bat, playing several good knocks throughout the season. Luke also has a great pair of hands behind the stumps, and when you combine this with his ability to bat anywhere in the top and middle order, he’s a great player to have in your team. Jack O’Mally: I guess that the best way to describe Jack would be as the ‘Mr. Cricket’ of our team. Jack has unlimited potential as a wicket keeper, a bowler, but most of all, as a batsman. He played a great innings in our Grand Final, opening the batting and hanging around at the crease with the top and middle order; Jack had eight batting partners in our Grand Final and gave us a chance of winning. This guy can do anything he wants in cricket, and I hope to see him playing seniors pretty soon. Darcy Waymouth: Darcy proved to be too good for a lot of top order batsmen this year, often cleaning up the top order of teams with the new ball. His left arm fast bowling, swinging the ball into the right‐hander was the key to a lot of our success. When you have a bowler of Darcy’s quality to lead off the attack in your team it provides you with a lot of confidence. Mitch Lyons: Mitch showed great promise this year with the bat and ball. He is another one of our dedicated team members at training and if he keeps up this dedication to his cricket he’ll continue to improve his skills and consistency. Mitch plays his cricket with great spirit, and I hope he sticks with the club for many seasons to come. Mackenzie Wade: One of the great characters of our team, Macka consistently performed on the field with his daring leg spin bowling. If anyone wants to see an example of how to flight the ball, just watch Macka throw one up above the batsmen’s eye line. If there were eleven Macka’s in our team, there probably wouldn’t be a lot happening at training, but you could bet you’d get one hundred percent dedication on the field. Matt Gardiner: Matt began the season as a spin bowler that was until we saw him bowl some pace at training and decided that perhaps it was something he should stick at. It wasn’t long before Matt was the talk of the competition because of his express pace and movement off the deck, and possibly because of his verbal contributions in the field as well. Matt is another one of our players who I can’t wait to see progress into senior cricket, as he plays the game in the true Bellbird spirit. Wok Whitmore Coach

This season was once again a most enjoyable and competitive year of cricket for all the boys. The year also marked the end of their junior cricket career and hopefully the commencement of many long and enjoyable years ahead in the senior competition. Although the 2010/11 season didn’t deliver the results we were trying to achieve it was without doubt a most rewarding and successful year for all those involved. The boys continually put in a strong effort and commitment throughout the year and the team spirit shown by all the boys was exceptional. The boys constantly encouraged and supported each other which was very pleasing. This culture within the team made for a most enjoyable and satisfying year with everyone enjoying each other’s company both on and off the field. With most of the boys now moving into the senior competition next year each boy should be very proud of their achievements throughout their junior playing years. Most players have been with the club for many years progressing from the early years of “Kanga” cricket and then through all the different age groups to where they are now. Throughout this time they have all represented the club and themselves to the highest standard both on and off the field which is something I’m sure the club and everyone else involved are very proud of. Everyone has managed many achievements over the years both individually and as a team including semi‐final appearances, premiership victories, and representative honours but more importantly have established many lasting memories and many strong friendships. In achieving these results the boys have always conducted themselves in an excellent manner both on and off the field and always played the game in the right spirit. Well done boys, congratulations, it’s been an absolute pleasure being involved with you all. Andre Bianchani ; Andre had a great year of cricket and is a real fun guy to have in the side. As a left hander Andre once again showed that he has enormous ability with the bat by regularly batting in the top order without any trouble. His innings against a very strong Umina team was his highlight when he scored a very patient and impressive 31. Very quick in the field and with a strong throwing arm, Andre proved to be very valuable and safe fieldsmen and was often required to wicket keep. Andre has been a player who has been with the club for many years who has always been heavily involved and was a pleasure to coach. Blake Biggs; Blake showed throughout year that he is more than capable with both the bat and ball in his hands. He scored a very gutsy 25 against Wyong early in the year by showing sound defence and a number of scoring shots. With the ball Biggsy’s highlight was a 4 wicket haul against a strong Doyalson. Well done Biggsy’s thanks for your effort and contributions to the team this year. James Biles; Big Jim had his first year with the club and had an excellent year with both the bat and ball proving his unlimited talent and love for the game. James finished the season batting at the top of the order where he belongs given his ability and found that if he is prepared to spend some time at the crease that he will become a more consistent run scorer. With a top score of 31 and a total of 152 runs for the year James was an important part of our team. With the ball, Jim was equally dominant, destroying a number of teams with his fierce bowling. Jim finished with 11 wickets with best figures of 4/14. Jim was also a member of the Central Coast representative team and played a lot of senior cricket this year.

Declan Drake; .A great all round team player Declan developed into our opening batsman showing enormous potential with a very solid and sound technique. Although Declan didn’t score heavily throughout the year he showed he has all the ability and application to be a top class player in the years ahead. With the ball Declan bowled at a lively pace and an excellent line and length troubling most batsmen throughout the year. In the field Declan was brilliant. He is well balanced, has a very strong and accurate throwing arm and took a number of great catches (8 in Jnrs, 5 in Snrs). Declan was also a member of the Central Coast representative team and played a lot of senior cricket this year. Brad Greaves; Brad was given a number of opportunities to bat in the top order this year and each time showed his has the ability to score runs in this position with good defence, all the shots and strong concentration. Brad’s innings against Doyalson with a score of 59 was all class demonstrating the enormous ability he has. Brad's right arm bowling continues to improve making him a valuable member of any team. Once again Brad demonstrated that he has a real love of the game and was always a great guy. A real team player and was a pleasure to coach. Brad also played regular senior cricket during the year which will be a good stepping stone into the seniors next year. Justin Henwood; Justin showed great all round ability throughout the year by regularly opening the bowling, batting powerfully and very athletic in the field. Justin is a great team player who often scored very quickly with the bat resulting in a superb innings and top score of 64no against Umina. With the ball he show he is more than capable bowling at a very lively pace and constantly made things uncomforted for most opening batsmen. Justin was selected in the Central Coast representative team and played a lot of senior cricket this year. Great year, well done. Mitch Hutton; Mitch showed throughout the year that he has a great love for the game and has loads of natural ability with the bat, ball and in the field. As the year went on Mitch took on the role as our No.1 keeper and did an excellent job whether keeping to the quicks or spinners. With the bat Mitch scored a very impressive 39 against Narara which was his top score of the year. Mitch has also represented the junior club to a very high standard from when he commenced way back in “Kanga” cricket to now achieving many impressive achievements along the way. His commitment to the team is always one of Mitch’s strong points added to his natural ability and personality makes him the ideal guy to have around any team. Mitch also made himself available to play a number of senior games this year. Mitch is a pleasure to coach and it has been great being involved in a number of teams Mitch has played in. Well done mate. Kyle James. Kyle was with us for the first half of the year before getting a call up to wicketkeep in 2nd grade where I believe he handled himself very well. Kyle has been an excellent performer for the juniors achieving almost everything possible since he started way back in “Kanga”. 2 premierships, loads and loads of runs, representative honours, emerging blues squad, representative school teams, it just goes on and on. Well done mate I wish you well in your senior cricket as I’m sure there will be plenty more enjoyable times for you. See you down the nets. Jarrod Mills. Jarrod once again proved that he has developed into an excellent off spin bowler by bowling very well this year and troubling most batsmen. His ability to bowl very accurate and to spin the ball so far on occasions makes him very difficult to handle. With the bat Jarrod was involved in a number of great middle order partnerships which was a huge contribution to the success of the team.

Jarrod has had an excellent junior career with the club, starting from “Kanga’s” and playing right through to 16’s. He has many achievements to his name including 2 premierships, a hatrick, top score of 70, and representative honours. Well done mate you have been an excellent junior cricketer for the club. Lloyd Radcliffe; As our opening batsman Lloyd was our leading run scorer for the year with 229 runs at an average of 45.8. Lloyd had an outstanding year with a top score of 91against Toukley and a number of other strong contributions of 60 and 49 by playing all the shots with power and timing. Lloyd also demonstrated a great deal of leadership qualities this year which had a great positive influence on the team throughout the year. Lloyd proved very valuable at the bowling crease taking 7 wickets with his best return of 3/33 against a strong Umina team. Lloyd also played representative cricket during the year with great success. Great year Lloyd pleasure having you as part of the team. Max Shearwood .Max once again proved he has all the skills to become a great all‐round cricketer. A fierce competitor Max regularly batted in the top order proving he has both a sound defensive technique and a full array of scoring shots. His innings of 56 against a strong Mountains side proved a real highlight of the year. With the ball Max was equally as good opening the bowling and taking 8 wickets for the year with his best figures of 3 for 35. Max was a real pleasure to have in the team and at all times showed a lot of enthusiasm which often fitted the team when times got tough. He always had a game plan and was always backing his ability both with the bat and ball in an effort to contribute to the team’s success. Well done mate, whatya reckon? Connor Wales; Connor was a very popular member of our team and showed a real love of the game. Connor never missed a training session and an opportunity to improve his game. Connor showed enormous improvement throughout the year particularly his bowling and was rewarded by taking wickets and bowling longer spells at important times in the game. Connor was a real team player who was happy to bat, field and bowl whenever it suited the team and was well respected amongst all the players. Well done Connor, I really enjoyed having you in the team and I know all the other team members enjoyed having you part of the team as well. Frankie Webber; Frankie showed throughout the year that he has all skills to develop into an outstanding cricketer in years to come. As team captain Frankie regularly scored runs, took wickets and was brilliant in the field. Frankie love of the game had a positive impact on the team throughout the year. A real team player and very popular member of the team Frankie’s topscore was 45 against Gosford and he also chipped in with 6 wickets bowling anything from leg spin, off spin or medium stuff. A great guy to have around, lots of fun, and a pleasure to coach. Frankie was also a member of the Central Coast representative team. Well done mate, great year. On behalf of the team we would like to express our thanks to all the parents, grandparents, and supporters for their assistance and support during the year. Unfortunately the U16B season came to a close with the last game of the regular draw. Although we missed out on a semi‐finals spot, the season was nevertheless memorable from many perspectives. As with every season there were moments of brilliance from individual members of the team. However, the most satisfying feature of our season was the way in which our 12 boys came together as a team which supported each other, managed to win a few games along the way and most importantly, had some fun while doing it.

Each game, we set goals for the boys to achieve. The most enduring of these was that we wanted them to use all 55 allocated overs when batting. It was extremely pleasing to see the boys achieve this milestone in their last game. The effort, hard work and focus they had all demonstrated was rewarded with a winning score of 8 for 183 off 55 overs. While cricket is most definitely about the team working together, it is also the case that individual players can have a extraordinary impact on the outcome of games. With this in mind, we would now like to highlight a few of the moments of brilliance which occurred during the season.

Batting – Daniel Cross was our overall top run getter of the season. This combined with his all‐round efforts with the ball and as a wicket keeper resulted in him receiving the well‐deserved “Players Player” award, as voted by his team mates. Daniel’s best score was 69 in the Round 6 game. However, he was well supported through the season by a number of other batsmen – Chris Gornall, 63 in Round 2, Zac Rowe, 40 in Round 3, Kurtis Blanch, 36 in Round 9, Monty Richmond, 35 in Round 8, and Carlo Cervo, 29 in Round 2. Several other batsmen also made valuable contributions with the bat – Josh Bridge , Max Tuckerman and Nic Kirwin to name a few.

Bowling – the memorable moments with the ball during the season were – Monty Richmond, 4 for 7 in Round 8, Chris Gornall, 4 for 14 in Round 2, Alex Saul, 2 for 4 in Round 4, , Adam Corby, 2 for 11 in Round 6 and Daniel Cross, 3 for 22 in Round 9.

Wicket Keeping – we were very fortunate to have 3 wicket keepers during the season. Carlo Cervo, Max Tuckerman and Daniel Cross shared the responsibility on a rotating basis. Each one of them did a tremendous job for us behind the wickets.

The Big Hits – we had 5 Big 6’s clear the boundary rope during the season. Given his great all round efforts, it is not surprising that 4 of these came off the bat of Daniel Cross. Perhaps most pleasing however, was the huge hit from Jacob Balenzuela in Round 7. Jacob was the stand‐out performer with the bat in that game with a top score of 26. It was the highlight of what was an otherwise a below par innings for us with the bat.

We would also like to acknowledge all of the parents who have been so supportive of the boys. They are a credit to all of you. However, it would be remiss of us if we did not mention a few of the dads for their contributions. A very big thanks is extended to Matt Cross for scoring plus Tim Saul and Stuart Blanch for helping out at training and with the umpiring.

Finally and most importantly, Russ and Nev want to thank the boys for a great season. It was an absolute pleasure to coach them. We sincerely hope that they all back up for season 2011/12. We believe that they are very close to that break‐through season which will not only see them reach the finals, but also maybe even taking out the title.
