ADMINISTRATION HOME PAGE

Prerequisite Login name and password to use First week and

Contribute softwareThe Administration home

page (http://www.uel.ac.uk/inductiontimetable/) enables the administrator to do these activities:

Add a new timetable: Admin needs to have login name and password create a new timetable

Publish the new timetable Edit the detail of the timetable using contribute

STEP 1 - LOGIN TO CONTRIBUTE AND ADD A NEW TIMETABLE

• Login to Contribute (http://www.uel.ac.uk/inductiontimetable/)

• Select “Add a new timetable” to create a template for the timetable

STEP 2 - ENTER THE PROGRAMME DETAILS

• Enter a “unique” award name, programme name, school and study mode to create a basic template for the timetable.

• No apostrophes or invalid characters that are not accepted by Window in the creation of files i.e: ICT’s and Development is an invalid name

• The parameters and the programme name will be used to create the structure of the templates (i.e programmes\ace\ug\beng_civilengineering_pt)

STEP 3 - SELECT “EDIT” TO EDIT THE TIMETABLE

• After entering the detail of the programme, select “Edit” to produce the timetable

• NOTE: You have to connect to the right URL - http://www.uel.ac.uk/inductiontimetable/ otherwise, you will have “Access Denied”

STEP 4 - TO RE-EDIT THE DETAILS OF THE TIMETABLE

• Repeat step 3

STEP 5 - EDIT PAGE AND INSERT NEW ROW

• Select “Edit page” at the top left Menu

• Highlight the row and select “Table Row” to create a new table row for the timetable

STEP 6 - FILL IN THE INFORMATION IN THE TABLE AND PUBLISH THE TIMETABLE

• Fill in the information into the table ( i.e. time, location, activity, required, lecturer )

• Copy and paste the text onto the tables to all the days in the week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday)

FAQ - CONNECTION PROBLEM

Problem: Connection problem Firstly, check if you are connecting to the correct server. It

should be https://uelcps.uel.ac.uk:8900/contribute

FAQ - CONNECTION PROBLEM

If you are connecting to the right server, attempt to do the next step

Ask someone else to log on to your computer and delete all your previous profiles. (location - C:\Documents and Settings)

If you can’t see it,  it is hidden, then go to  Tools- > Folder option - > view Show hidden files and folders.

After that , log back in again and try once last time.

 You need to “double click  on the key” to open contribute, instead of going to program -> contribute. If you lost the key, please, request the key from the web team.

FAQ – CONTRIBUTE KEY CORRUPTED

Problem: If you are experiencing an error due to the Contribute Key corrupted, this only happened when the key was downloaded from the Web mail.

Solution: Try to download the key from Microsoft Outlook Mail and open the Contribute from the key (double click on the key )
