A close source in the region revealed to Express Eastern Free State that there were two camps in the Thabo Mofutsanyana Region. “There is a camp with a notorious name, ‘regime change’, which supports Titi, and they would love to see him guiding the region. “They sound very strong, but we are not sure if they will defeat the current structure. The other team is the one that supports the current president,” the source said. The current structure remains quiet as it plays its cards close to its chest. Thokoa Mofokeng, the regional deputy chairperson, said so far they saw the complains from Nketoane and Phumelela. He said those were com- plaints because a dispute should be lodged with the electoral officer after the elections and added that would meeting (AGM). GRACE MOKOENA (37), who worksfor the Maluti-a-Phofung Municipality, isa rich woman, but allegedly collectedmoney from desperate people in need ofemployment.She illegally collected R73 500. It is

alleged that Mokoena, who hails fromElite Section, Phuthaditjhaba, Qwaqwa,collected about R700 each from 105people to whom she had promiseddifferent jobs within the municipality.The collection started in 2012, but thus

far not even one of the people who hadpaid the money had received a job.Mokoena was saved by the Phutha-

ditjhaba Police from the angry peoplewho wanted their money back.Sgt Mmako Mophiring, the police

spokesperson, said she had been arrestedat the Setsing Crescent Mall where shehad been kept in detention and safe fromthe angry victims last Tuesday.She appeared before the Phutha-

ditjhaba Magistrate’s Court on Thursdayfacing charges of corruption and sevencounts of fraud. She is expected tore-appear in the same court on Fridayfor bail application.Mophiring said it was alleged by

victims that they had given her R700each to purchase jobs for them in themunicipality.“She would then take the money to

another person who would organise jobsfor those who had paid.“They also handed over copies of their

IDs and CVs. But, unfortunately, since2012 to date nothing had come up,” hesaid.Mophiring said the victims had met

Mokoena in Setsing. She was allegedlylooking for more people who wantedwork, but used another official’s name.“They approached her asking for their

money back, but she could not give itback. The victims allege they are inpossession of a list of 105 names ofpeople claiming to have paid and none ofthem have been employed. that the combina-tion of youth andexperience wouldwork well.All the players in

the current squadare part of theHarmony SportsAcademy funded bythe Harmony Minein Virginia.

As far as prepara-tions were con-cerned, Mokhalisaid they were busybuilding the teamand trying to get thecombinations right.“The players are

still trying tobecome used to mycoaching style,” hesaid.He said most

schools were afraidto play againstthem. “We inviteschools to come andplay against us, butsometimes theydon’t pitch, so atemporary solutionhas been to playagainst the Voda-com and CastleLeague teams in ourarea,” he said.
