The names of many foods in Spanish come from Latin as well as from other languages as diverse as
Arabic, Italian, Greek, Turkish, and English.
While its clear that the word espaguetis comes from the Italian word Spaghetti, it’s not obvious that the word zanahoria comes from the Arabic
word Safunariya.
