Excellence in LearningTerm 2 Week 3 15 May 2020 The newsletter for Wallabadah Public School & its community Welcome to week three! This week we started the Phase One Return to School plan from the Department of Education. This plan has recommended children return to school AT LEAST one day a week. A coloured phased model was sent home on Monday with the newsletter. If you have any questions regarding the Department of Education model, please phone or email the school. Wallabadah staff have been thrilled to see the number of children returning to school. We are fortunate to have many of our families returning to work, and supporting their childrens learning, by returning them to school. Wallabadah Public School is open and fully operational five days a week. Our gates are open to all and we are supporting our students with face to face teaching. Our students who are learning from home continue to complete online learning or learning from work packs. With children returning to school this week, staff have enjoyed listening to the stories of isolation’, what families did to entertain them- selves, and new activities they tried. Teachers appreciated the efforts many students have put into their remote learning during the first two weeks of term. Once again, teachers would like to thank parents for their efforts in supporting the formallearning of their children. Appreciation post: This week our appreciation is extended to Rural Aid and The Gift Of Music. Wallabadah Public School has been so fortunate to receive a considerable donation from the organisation. This donation has allowed us to purchase 20 new laptops. We purchased 12 during the holiday break an they were allocated to families during remote learning time. The generous contribution enabled us to purchase 8 new laptops. With the 8 we already have at school, we will now have one laptop per student to use at school. The Gift of Music tagged Wallabadah Public School in their Facebook post this week and added some fabulous photos of our seniors in action on the laptops. Our students will strongly benefit from the ability to utilise technology, learn new skills and contribute to new technology platforms such as Google Classroom. Thank you very much Rural Aid and the Gift of Music, your generosity is greatly appreciated. Have a lovely week everyone! Johanna Teague—Principal

Welcome to week three!

We are fortunate to have many of our families returning to work, and supporting their children’s learning, by returning them to school.

Wallabadah Public School is open and fully operational five days a week. Our gates are open to all and we are supporting our students with face to face teaching. Our students who are learning from home continue to complete online learning or learning from work packs.

With children returning to school this week, staff have enjoyed listening to the stories of ‘isolation’, what families did to entertain them-selves, and new activities they tried. Teachers appreciated the efforts many students have put into their remote learning during the first two weeks of term. Once again, teachers would like to thank parents for their efforts in supporting the ’formal’ learning of their children.

Amazing work everyone!

Please ensure your child comes to

school each day with their jumpers and

jackets. The mornings are very

fresh here at school, but the days have been beautiful! Please make sure you

mark all of your child’s uniforms

clearly with their names so we can

easily return it to them should they

get left in the playground after

break time, as they will need them the following morning.

Please keep your children home if they are unwell in

any way. If students become unwell at all during school hours

we will require them to be

collected from school.

Some beautiful work samples from the K-2 Class
