To Dempsey Challenge participants, sponsors, volunteers, donors and the Lewiston-Auburn community:

I can’t adequately express how grateful my family and I are for your support of the 8th Annual Dempsey Challenge. It is remarkable what we can accomplish when we come together and work toward a common goal. I said it at our Challenge closing ceremony, and I truly believe it — this weekend makes it clear there is nothing we can’t do.

From the participants who raised more than ever before ($1.3M+); to the smiling, helpful volunteers who donated their time; to our generous corporate partners who help cover event costs; to the thousands of donors, spectators, local businesses and community members — you all play an integral and important part in the success of the Dempsey Challenge. We hope you take pride and ownership in this event and recognize the huge difference you’re making for individuals and families impacted by cancer.

I am so proud to be from this community, proud of the work the Dempsey Center is doing, and proud to come home. There’s still much work to be done, but I look forward to doing it alongside all of you in the weeks, months and years ahead.

Gratefully,Patrick DempseyFounder
