when to go to guidance?

grade 9 ‘orientation’ timetable changes planning courses during option time (January

& February) signing up for night school, e-Learning,

summer school post-secondary planning when struggling (academically, emotionally,

etc.) when you don’t know who to ask …

switching course levels

students may change levels on the recommendation of their teacher providing there is room in the timetable for such a change

sometimes the switch might mean they need to take a transfer course (math) or complete a prerequisite course

what to do if your child is struggling?

Academicallystart with their subject teacher – when is their extra-help scheduled; is your child completing homework, assignments; is your child asking for help; Wednesday morning ‘Student Catch Up’, etc.if they have an IEP seek the support of their special education teacher (Michelle Kaske)peer tutors / adult tutorscontact their guidance counsellor (IST, SST, FOS, etc.)
