EDNEY PRIMARY SCHOOL P&C ASSOCIATION INC. 5.0 Guest Presentation Stephen Price

He has observed and been involved with Edney for the past 12 months and was impressed with the Fete and graduation. He spoke to Kate, Erica and Steve at Graduation last year about seeing him for funding, and mentioned a disclaimer- As this is in the campaign period, he is not asking for votes. The outcome of any funding is dependent on the results of the election and 2 conditions, that Labor win the seat of Forrestfield, and that Labor win government. Plan to provide $50,000 towards undercover area air conditioning, the music program and covering the basketball court. Encouraged us to see Nathan Morton also. The question was asked “why have you not offered this to all schools in the area?” He answered, “we asked and there are other schools and clubs in the area that are receiving funding such as Wattle Grove for improving parking, and Darling Range Sports College for redesigning of the home economics and design and technology area.

Appendix 1 President’s Report – Erica Moore

You do what you set your mind to, success or failure...and wow! What a

successful year we have had, I'm so proud of our P & C and the hours you all put in. I enjoyed Aarons address to the graduating year 6 students as we said our goodbyes & it comes to mind again as we start this new year welcoming new families & kindy students.... Congratulations! Today is your day. You're off to great places, you're off and away!

Once again we have contributed to swimming lessons, Edudance, Classroom budgets & a massive $30,000 towards the creating of the Naturescape areas. Our first fete in many years was an outstanding success, showcasing the excellence of our school to the broader community and in turn also creating many important business relationships. Again, so proud!

We also had many other firsts, we started the more "official" process with our first WACCSO training night and are now working towards our very own terms of reference & governance, and will further continue laying out some short, medium & long term goals, this will give us so much more direction so that we as a P & C can also be off to great places. “The constitution is the skeleton and the by-laws are the flesh you build apon.”

In closing, please keep in mind the school & it's reputation that we are helping to build (which is Respect & Excellence of course!) word of mouth is so important, negative comments won't encourage greatness or more participation from families. This past year has been a massive eye opener for me, & as I am not renominating myself for this position I'd like to thank Aaron for always being available to talk things over with me & most importantly acknowledge my heartfelt appreciation for those of you that have given me your support & guidance over the year, you are absolutely awesome & I couldn't have done it without you, keep up your fabulousness, & onwards & upwards for an even greater year in 2017. Erica Moore

President for the last time (hee hee hee)

Fundraising Report Week 3 Term 1 2017

Reported Rachelle Cook

We are looking to set up a plan for fundraising that will run from now through until term 1 next year, were waiting until the after the AGM so we know who will be in the committee. Will have this for the next general meeting.

Entertainment Book have been trying to contact me, didn’t want to speak to them before AGM and before I clarified if we would be running this fundraiser again. My suggestion would be to run it without the mass handout of books. Get preorders and then have some onsite that can be bought. Open to the thoughts of others.

Discussing a movie night for this term.

Need to liaise with the Grad Committee to see what they are planning to see exactly where we are heading.

Election Sausage Sizzle 11th March, happy to do this if desired.

Mother’s Day stall. Can we have permission to start spending? Need to stocktake what we have in next week or so and then go from there. At this point up to $600? We are in the process of rethinking Mother’s Day and Father’s day stalls. Open to ideas.

An Easter fundraiser? Raffle, chocolate drive? Hot Cross Buns?

IF anyone knows of any fundraisers that they would like to see or have seen to be successful, please let us know. We are always open to ideas.

2018 FETE??? If there is to be a Fete next year when would people like it to be held? Committee will need to be reestablished next term.

Survey – 32 respondents so far. Will do another push and then collate the data for next meeting.

Safety House Report – Erica Moore

It was a really busy year for Safety House not for us personally but their admin, the decision was made that all individuals of Safety Houses had to have a working with children card which while making perfect sense also lost a lot of members as people didn't want to go through filling in forms, going to the post office & paying the fee. At a school level, we gave entries to the art competition to every classroom & welcomed having Mike the CEO at the fete plus his trusty side kick IMA.
