Nurture educated personswith high morals
Myanmar is a multiethnic country inwhich national brethrens have been livingtogether in peace and unity.
Now is the time when the nation is on theright track of transforming the nation intonew era and new system and the governmentis shaping the nation into a new peaceful anddeveloped democratic one in accord with thepublic will. Efforts are being made foreconomic development and burgeoning ofdemocratic practices.
Development of national economy callsfor great strides to be made for creating apeaceful and pleasant situation. Only whenthe whole nation including far-flung areaswitnesses peace and stability, can strenuousefforts be made by all walks of life in everysector, thereby contributing towardseconomic development.
Educated human resources are of vitalimportance to the modernization of the nation. It is required, however, to produce educatedpersons equipped with reasoning power whocan think logically. Apart from schooleducation, it is needed to nurture them todevelop physical, mental, moral and socialskills equally. If not so, youths with low moralswill emerge and their future will be a cause ofconcern.
Parents, teachers and students are tomake a thorough assess on educationalconcepts being practised. It cannot be avaluable student who takes tuition for scoringhigh marks and knows only school education. This being the case, teachers with the supportof parents who are visionary are to inculcatestudents with a sense of being reliable andhard-working.
Meanwhile, parents are pay moreattention to their children so that the latterare to keep pace with changes anddevelopments of the outside world withoutconfining them to school education. And theyare to train and nurture their children in asystematic manner to be morally upright andphysically strong. Only then, will they becomehighly civilized and well educated ones.

Study touts new way to spot babies at risk for obesityContrary to the idea
that chubby babies arethe picture of health, thestudy bolsters evidencethat “bigger is not better”in infants, she said.
But skeptics say notso fast. Babies often growin spurts and flagging thespeediest growers couldlead to putting infants ondiets — a bad idea thatcould backfire in the longrun, said Dr MichelleLampl.
“It reads like a veryhandy rule and soundslike it would be very useful— and that’s myconcern,” Lampl said. The guide would be easyto use to justify feedinginfants less and to unfairlylabel them as fat. It couldalso prompt feedingpatterns that could lead toobesity later, she said.
Lampl noted thatmany infants studiedcrossed at least two keypoints on growth charts;yet only 12 percent wereobese at age five andslightly more at age 10.Nationally, about 10 per-cent of preschool-agedchildren are obese, versus about 19 percentof those aged six to 11.

‘TB sniffer’ offers hope of early diagnosis
CHICAGO, 8 Nov—Researchers say there’s anew way to tell if infantsare likely to becomeobese later on: Check tosee if they’ve passed twokey milestones ondoctors’ growth charts byage two.
Babies who grew thatquickly face double therisk of being obese at age
five, compared with peerswho grew more slowly, their study found. Rapidgrowers were also morelikely to be obese at age10, and infants whose chartnumbers climbed thatmuch during their first sixmonths faced the greatestrisks.
That kind of rapidgrowth should be a red

What does space station mean for China?BEIJING, 8 Nov—China successfully completed the first step of building a space station when
Shenzhou 8 docked with lab module Tiangong 1 on 3 Nov, 2011, but what is the significance of theproject for the nation?
New world forChina’s spaceexperiments
It is generallyrecognized among theinternational spaceexploration communitythat a space station canprovide a platform toconduct scientificresearch that cannot beperformed on the earthand create a relativelystable environmentfeaturing microgravityand high vacuum, whichis of strategic signi-ficance to the develop-ment of material science, biology, pharmacologyand other branches ofscience. Furthermore, aspace station orbitingEarth is cruciallyimportant to the
Shenzhou-8 and Tiangong-1 prepare for 2nd dockingBEIJING, 8 Nov—
Spacecraft, Shenzou-8and Tiangong-1 willdock again in a week’stime.
Unlike the firstdocking, this is likelyto occur in harshconditions in order totest the design andcapabilities of the twomodules.
A poor light andorbit environment havebeen chosen onpurpose to test whether
the docking system canwithstand use underdiffering conditions.
Uncertainties surrou-nd the second dockingbetween Shenzhou-8and Tiangong-1, whichhave flown together nowfor more than onehundred hours.

Sensors and radarsare installed inShenzhou-8 to aiddocking. Under differentconditions, the chall-enge is how to minimizethe disturbance of solarlight on the sensors.
Wang Xiang said,“The sensors havedifferent reactions underdifferent conditions. Allspace engineers will
meet this problem. Theonly way to overcomethe problem is to testthe sensors in a differentorbit in the seconddocking.”
Shenzhou-8 andTiangong-1 will orbittogether for a total of12 days. The seconddocking will befollowed by two days’flight.

Weather forecastsmake travelling easierand safer, and satellitenavigation helps peopleavoid getting lost. Spacetechnology has alreadybecome integrated intoalmost every aspect ofpeople’s lives.
Space researchmakes everyday lifemore convenient
“How manyadvantages can a spacelaboratory bring? Thefact that China’sb i o p h a r m a c e u t i c a lindustry is far lessdeveloped than that ofthe West is a typicalexample for the answerof this question,” saidHu Wenrui, a spacephysicist and anacademician of the

could lead to the discovery of life-changingmedicines.
The benefits that the space laboratory can bringto such areas as the semiconductors, specialmaterials, astronomy and earth observation are alsocountless.
China will face new space engineeringchallenges
The director of the Jiuquan Satellite LaunchCenter Cui Jijun said that the number and frequencyof China’s has changed from sporadic periods ofintensive launches several years ago to moreregular rounds of intensive space launches. Thehighly intensive launches will further test China’sspace flight technologies.
Qian Weiping, the general designer of theTracking, Telemetry, Command andCommunication System of China’s manned spaceengineering said that as the space stationconstruction tasks of China are implemented fully, the future space station administration will proposemany new requirements to the Tracking, Telemetry,Command and Communication Network ofmanned space engineering.
The new requirements will be the key subjectsthat should be researched and solved in the futuredevelopment of the system.
