Enactus University of Alberta’s 2014-2015 Projects SMART Budgeting Saving Money At the Right Time. SMART Budgeting is about understanding the role that f inances play in our l ives and bringing that knowledge to individuals that may not have easy access to. This past year, SMART Budgeting has brought f inancial wisdom to high school students across the Capital Region in their CALM classes. We successfully motivated and interacted with students in multiple ways to ensure that they are l iv ing smart budgeting. Starting this spring, we wil l be working with individuals from the Shift Program at the Hope Mission to tai lor presentations for homeless individuals that want to progress to the next step in their l ives.

Nutripreneur When you walk into a high school cafeteria, what do you see? You see a menu f i l led with fr ied food and poor healthy choices. What are doing when we give students these choices during a period of crucial physical and psychological development? We are fostering a l ivel ihood of detrimental eating decisions. Nutripreneur is designed as a healthy l i festyle café that can work in conjunction with the school cafeteria to provide healthier food options to students. As a social entrepreneurship project, students wil l run this café themselves so that they can learn how to run a business and grasp crucial employment skil ls that wil l help them later in the workforce. Revenues generated wil l go back to the running the business and enhancing the school’s resources.

Brew Green Many of us are very conscious about how we source our coffee beans. Perhaps we are conscious about the way we drink our coffee. But we tend to forget a major part of the cycle. The used coffee grounds that end up being dumped into the garbage. Find out how Enactus University of Alberta wil l see opportunity and take progress on this init iative in the coming months!
